I just got my hands on the list of Pro Bowl fan voting leaders and the Dolphins actually have an AFC leader at one of the positions. Jake Long's 107,299 votes leads the way among all AFC tackles.

Congrats to Jake - for now. And be sure to head over to NFL.com to cast your votes. There are only five weeks remaining to vote.

i love jake long but...

Im a bit surprised hes numero uno in the voting. he has had a fantastic first two years, but ive also seen some sophomore slump particularly early in the against abraham and freeney.

good for long and i hope hes stays top dawg for his first officially voted in trip (he got in via injury last year) to the probowl, which is no longer in hawaii but now in land shark- for the time being

if ronnie brown isn't resigned, im gonna go pete stoyanovich on jeff ireland

I think Long's the only LT this year who had ANY success against Dwight Freeney

Freeney got a coverage sack during that game, but Long did a great job of keeping him off of Chad Pennington. Besides, Freeney’s one of those guys that you can’t really dominate. You can only hope to contain him for a short while).

This is great news. I am thrilled we have a #1 pro bowl candidate at the left tackle position.

Sebastien Vollmer - the rookie LT for the Pats

shut down Freeney…..he was insanely good, in fact….which sux

by Matty I on Nov 17, 2009 4:11 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I didn't get to watch the game Sunday night

Was Vollmer really that effective? I figured he was getting help from the guard (which is something Long got on occasion against Freeney). If not, I am surprised the Pats were willing to let a rookie go at it with Freeney. That’s ballsy.

Vollmer was completely shutting down Freeney solo.

I got a round of applause on the Pats forum when I suggested he start over Matt Light.

Thats not correct ,vollmer is just another rookie ,OL well designed schemes shutdown freeney

it seemed that he was shutting down freeney on his own , but that was not the case , the Pats implemented a brilliant scheme to help him on almost every snap, in fact he was beaten badly by freeney spin move but there were always help, i suggest you to watch this week playbook breakdown in NFL network. they have really good footage on how the OL schemes shutdown freeney but it was not a solo vollmer.

Pats fans are just wishful thinking.

this week playbook re-airs

12:00 AM ET today and 12:00 PM ET. Tomorrow , they uploaded just part of the extensive analysis of that game to nfl.com and idk if they will upload the rest or not, i am going to try to dvr the re-air just in case

Vallmer is just a rookie, they double teamed Freeney 36 out of 44 pass attempts

The playbook crew of nfl network examined the film and freeney was double teamed 36 of 44 pass attempts, i recorded the segment and uploaded it you ca view it in my fanpost:
Sebastian Vollmer had help on Freeney 36 out of 44 passing attempts.

I'm not surprised (I voted for him about 10 times)

there is no one better. Shoot, he made the alternate spot during his first year.

no he didn't

it was Joe Thomas and Jason Peters as the starters and Michael Roos as the backup. But when Peters was out of game due to injury, Jake Long got in.

Clady wasn’t a Pro Bowler.

Who in the world would even contemplate that trade.

Matt Ryan is slumping and looking mediocre at best, and Chamber is a hack.

I've always thought Long>Ryan

Even if Ryan becomes a Peyton, you still must have a badass LT in this league of ridiculous pass rushers.
