Over Paid/Under Paid Dolphins
Over Paid
Will Allen - 2YR/16.00M - Cap Hit: 7.00M. And nothing against Will Allen, i actually really like the guy but he is way over paid for his talent and production.
Channing Crowder - 3YR/18.00M - Cap Hit: 6.00M. This guy has almost no production in the pass game, and despite his effectiveness in run stuffing is not worth this kind of money, to have a one side line backer.
Ted Ginn Jr. - 5YR/21.50M - Cap Hit: 5.06M. I really doubt I am going get to many arguments on this guy, but i just have to say who ever his agent is, can he come with me on my next date so i can seem like a superstar.
Yeremiah Bell - 4YR/20.00M - Cap Hit: 4.12M. This is another one sided guy, he is a great tackler and is outstanding against the run but has little to no presence in the passing game, he constantly gets burned by sub-par receivers and tight ends.
Akin Ayodele - 5YR/17.00M - Cap Hit: 3.92M. This is another one where i should congratulate his agent for getting a great contract for a low performance player.
Gibril Wilson - 5YR/27.50M - Cap Hit: 3.76M. To be honest I was really excited when we signed Wilson, but from what I have seen so far this season has made me really start to not like this guy, and I hope in the off-season he hits up a tackling clinic or something...
Jason Allen - 5YR/10.00M - Cap Hit 2.09M. I really don't know why we put him a corner back he liability every time he steps on the field, he is much more suited for safety and I believe that is what he was drafted as, not sure why the converted him.
Joey Porter - 5YR/32.00M - Cap Hit 6.14M. All i can say is I hope he turns the motor back on at some point and at least backs up the mouth. For the record have no problem with him talking smack and i usually agree with what he is saying but he just needs to show up on the field.
Under Paid
Joey Haynos - 2YR/620K - Cap Hit: 320K. I really like Joey, he is a 6'8 270 pound tight end that i think has great potential and i hope we resign him, he seems to have reliable hands and is a presence in the run game which is big for this team.
Dan Carpenter - 2YR/620K - Cap Hit: 320K I'm a big fan of DC$ and i know it seems to weird to put a kicker on here as underpaid. I really do think he is underpaid but, the main reason i put him up here is because my roommate when to high school with the guy and wouldn't shut up until i put him on here...
Jason Taylor - 1YR/1.10M - Cap Hit: 1.10m I know some people probably don't think so but i think he is defiantly underpaid, i really like jason taylor and he atleast makes plays which is better than 3/4 of our line backing core.
Ronnie Brown - 1YR/3.60M - Cap Hit: 3.6M This isn't really that big of a deal because they are going to resign him in the off-season to a big contract so not to much to talk about.
Thanks for reading my post and give me some feed back, i didn't really back any of this up with stats more just my opinion so tell me what ya think.

But at least they have something to show for it.

Where did you get your stats from?
Ronnie Brown’s salary this year is almost $10 mil!!! Don’t get me wrong, I like the guy. But not for almost $10 mil a year. I think his actual cap hit is over $6 mil.

You don't have to trust me....
See for yourself: msn.foxsports.com/nfl/player?statsId=7178
What was posted is his base salary, not including bonuses.
His actual cap hit is around 6 mil.

Higher draft pick, and probably wanted most of his money to come at the end of his contract… but notice in the overpaid column that there is only ONE offensive player… And it goes to show our D is sometimes over hyped…

how is jason tayor underpaid?
I thnik I have seen him come within 5 feet of the QB once this season, he takes a long outside route everytime. = No Pressure. He has a nice TD but thats pretty much it.

I could not disagree more. Taylor has 5.5 sacks and quite a few QB pressures and tackles for losses.
He may not be what he once was or starting caliber anymore but I think even as a good back up hes a total barging.

... look at Sparano's comments on JT
… he’s also had a few pass deflections. Definitely underpaid.

That goes completely against why the Dolphins are using the Wildcat...
The Dolphins are deliberately designing plays to keep both Ronnie and Ricky on the field at the same time. Ricky is just a good as Ronnie this year. You might even argue he’s having a better year. Look at the yards per carry.
We’ll have more leverage with Ronnie when it comes down to contract negotiations if Ricky puts up some nice numbers and that’s exactly what he’s doing.

Funny how similar I think
Crowder and Bell are in that, both are good tacklers and run stuffers, but rarely make the big play, the game changer that alters the outcome. I remember last year how Bell dropped a few surefire INT’s.
Still, I’d say both of these guys are doing a decent job compared to Wilson who not only fails to make big plays, but he misses on the fundamental stuff, you know, like tackling.
Ginn, eh, let’s not even go there.
On the other side of it:
Henne – Our starting QB has, from the figures I found, a cap hit of less than $1M which is remarkable for any QB. Granted, he is in his second year only and wasn’t signed to a big contract. If he really plays well though, then he’ll be in line for a big payday in a couple of years.
Bess – if Henne is cheap, then Bess is on the sale rack because the cap figure I found for Bess = $389k. You talk about a bargain, $389k = 70% catch percentage.
Haynos, as mentioned by the OP
Vontae Davis & Sean Smith only rookies yes, but these two are only going to get better. Plus, how many solid starting CB tandems check in with cap hits of just $1.2M & $1.06M. After all, there are 2-6 teams paying (one) CB $15M+. :)

I posted something interesting about this before.
Pat White has a larger contract than Henne.
Also, Donald Thomas is glaringly underpaid!!!!! He gets 5th round money to start on a $150m O-Line!!!

Ya how pathetic is that?
And people wonder why others say the draft/nfl needs to start setting limits. The cash some of these guys are getting out of college its no wonder why some of them are complete lame ass’s. Seriously.. if your some kid who lived in a normal income home then all of a sudden are handed a 10 million $ contract would you go out of your way or have any ambition to over preform? The pay rate should be a flat rate based on where you were drafted then the BIG money should come in the form of bonus’s. That way these players have something to strive for.
Henne is now our leader. Lets see what the guy can do !
As usual the R&R Xpres is non stop to its next destination !

Something has to be done.
I love the Jake Long pick and in the long run may be a great value but to get a giant contract as a number one before you even know if hes going to be a good NFL player is assinine.

Asomugha?
He has a sick contract.
3 year, $43.5 m. The first 2 years are for $28.5m and are fully guaranteed. If they exercise the option to keep him for the 3rd year, then they pay him the remaining value, or the average of the Top-5 QB salaries for that year, whichever is higher. Yes I said Quarterback.

overpaid/underpaid
First off, I view the Miami Dolphins, like I do the U.S. Marines! Not Given, but earned!
I have been a Dolphin fan since 1969, and have always lived, and died with them.
About overpaid players:
Will Allen: If he is not performing with heart & love of the Dolphin tradition, let him go! There are several guys with heart, given the chance to play for only a third of what you are paying Will Allen, to give 100% capacity for a new and better Miami Dolphins.
Channing Crowder: It sounds like his body is there, but his mind is else where. Like I said for Will Allen, let him go!
Yeremiah Bell: Two minded man! Only playing 50%! Where is the other 50%? He is not focused on the game at heart. There are other guys waiting for a shot to play, and probably only for half to prove their love for the Dolphin tradition.
Akin Ayodele: Sounds like he knows what to do, and when to do it. ( Diamond in the rough ) kind of player. Keep him an add a few more bucks in his hand.
Gibril Wilson: What kind of sick does he make you? In the stomach, or the @#&? Let him go! Get rid of your sickness!
Joey Porter: I thought he was a good player, but not showing up for practice. Not good! Certain players give the team a spark to make the other 10 play great, or vise versa!
Overall…..Miami guys are looking at the past, the 2008 season, with a 11-5 record, then Baltimore slamming them, knocked the confidence out of them.
Joey Haynos: Maybe he is not the answer, but maybe if he loses 20-25#‘s, he maybe become more effective in catching, and running with the ball. Use these words, plus, say we’ll throw in some more $$$$$$!!!
Dan Carpenter: Has he made any game winning F/G this year? How many has he lost by missing? This determines $$$$$$!! What is his longest? Hit or Miss?
Jason Taylor: Isn’t he Capt? Is Miami afraid to give more to him, thinking he may go south on them! Is he a moral booster for the rest of the team? If not, don’t give to much!
Ronnie Brown: Go Ronnie Go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

couple things
Will Allen is hurt. I have no idea where you heard that YBell isn’t focused, and I’m not sure why you want to get rid of Crowder, but keep Ayodele (AND pay him more?)….

Guess DC$ answered your question last Sunday stanb!
JT turned down $8.5 million from the DC Foreskins to come home. He had been injured so he needed to prove he still has it. And he has done exactly that!
Just think how stupid the average Jest fan is, and then realize that half of them are even stupider! ( a parody of a George Carlin line)

Where Ricky Williams?
… didn’t he negotiate his own contract for $1 million or something ridiculously cheap like that.
