Re-Signings
The dolphins have a couple of players heading into Free Agency next year as you all know. Here they are:
- Chad Pennington - Our very own 2008 comeback of the year winner; would he do it again this time with another team.
- Ronnie Brown - The best player on our team Period. Also one of the best backs in the league will the Dolphins let him slip away?

-
Lusaka Polite - Our very own Monster, this guy is very reliable in the run game smashing almost every LB that comes near him, and picks up first downs when needed. Will the monster claw his way out of Miami?
will these two be together in 2010?
- Davone Bess - an undrafted receiver in 08 came and joined the Dolphins to become one of the most reliable WR on the squad, will the predator find his way out of Miami? I hope not
- Anthony Fasano- The Italian Stallion has disappointed all in the pass game but in run blocking he has been useful, will the Trifecta let him leave?
- Jason Fergueson - Fergie has been the only reliable Defensive Tackle so far this year, we desperatly need a new one but will the Dolphins blow off Fergie ( NFL, NOT black eyed peas)
- Matt Roth - Matt Roth has been a huge disappointment this year, Real or Fake injury left him from playing for half the season and now has a chance to make it up.
- I NEVER KNEW MATT ROTH HAD A BITCH
- Jason Taylor - Our favorite defensive player of all time (Mine anyways) has a chance to leave Miami will he do it probrably not.
- Nathan Jones - A good nickel back who has played phenomenal ball so far this year, hopefully he stays with Miami.
- Dan Carpenter - Mr. Money in the Bank has a chance to leave Miami hope he ain't pissed about that Connor Barth incident.
Well there you have it who will the dolphins resign? here's a poll and leave your thoughts about this.
- Anthony Fasano- The Italian Stallion has disappointed all in the pass game but in run blocking he has been useful, will the Trifecta let him leave?

TE/WR position
If we don’t sign Fasano I believe it’s because we think Haynos should be our number 1. I doubt we sign anyone else or take someone in the draft.
As for WR, I know we all want one but I’m not sure our FO is set to sign a big name guy. I feel we need one though. I’d probably wet myself If we got a physical guy like Brandon Marshall but guys like Evans, Jackson or Bryant may be more in our price range. Do we take a shot at them? I think this may be the year to aim high in the draft and look to lock up a young stud for Henne in rounds 1 or 2.

Great post... my predictions?
Penny- leaves. Unless he wants to get paid less to sit on the bench. I can see a crappy team offering him decent cash to start.
Ronnie- stays. Letting him walk out the front door is like guaranteeing him to be succesful somewhere else. Didn’t we already learn our lesson with Welker. Sign him, because if Belicheck offers him top dollar i’ll probably jump off a bridge.
Lousaka- stays. honestly, probably the most UNDERRATED player on our team. This guy makes blocks which help on every run plus makes us the only team not to sweat on 4th and short. Sign him or our run offense will take a massive hit.
Bess- unsure. Let’s see how this one plays out, but he’s def not helping his case as of late. All in all Bess is probably my fav receiver on the team and I feel like he can be one of the league’s best slot guys. I’m sure Cam and Hartline would have a thing to say about that as well however.
Fasano- probably staying. See above. If we don’t sign him it’s because we feel Haynos is our guy. I still feel Haynos is a bit raw (with blocking and all) so I feel we may keep our Italian Stallion along for a few more years.
Ferguson- stays. This guy still is the man. Soliai and McDaniel have BOTH impressed, however this is one position where depth is crucial. Keep Ferguson in becasue he is the glue that let’s our D-line gel. I doubt Parcells lets our best player from our D-line get away.
Roth- traded. This guy is so unpredictable but can be a beast. He’s like a Merrriman, he can make plays but also can be alot of baggage. I can see a team like the chiefs make a big offer on him and we’ll jump all over it. We’ll let Wake take his place and look at LB’s seriously in the draft.
Jason Taylor- retired. JT will probably retire much to our surprise. Unless he seriously turns it up the nest 8 games I imagine he’ll hang up his cleats as a Miami Dolphin, just as he’d like it. Jason if your reading, I hope I’m wrong here… I’m rooting for you to make those big plays and stay an extra year! But, I’m sure he’ll agree that if he’s not making plays it might be better to call it quits and get a guy in there that can.
Jones- stays. Nathan has proven that he can make some plays. Our CB position needs depth anyways so i suppose we can keep him for relatively cheap.
DC$- they’ll sign him, why wouldn’t he want to stay in Miami?

Pennington won't be signed because he is retiring unless otherwise declared.
Besides, the Henne-train has left the station. I like Thig as a capable back-up, and unless Pat gets traded, I doubt Pennington would have a roster spot if he wanted to come back, and, if he did come back, he’d probably shift to another team.

fyi
Bess is an exclusive rights free agent – which, in a nut shell, means he’ll be back in Miami as long as they want him. He has basically no negotiating room. If the Dolphins want him, he’s here – like it or not.
i like it

I like it too. He is a good #3 or #4 receiver. Unfortunately, he is our 1st or 2nd best receiver

If next year is uncapped.....
Most of these guys are ineligible for UFA. Only Ferg, Jones, Polite, Taylor, and Pennington will have more than 6 years.
Here’s how 2010 shapes up:
The one factor fans have heard the most about is that 2010 and 2011 would be “uncapped” years. But there are three main trigger points that will go off in 2010 if there isn’t a new CBA in place, and they may offset the fear of life with no salary cap. They are: 1) free agency will require six years of service (instead of four years in 2010 and five years in 2011); 2) teams will have three tags to use to restrict free agents instead of one tag, as they do now; and 3) teams that go deep in the playoffs could have some spending restrictions.
lets just say this wasnt an uncapped year who had the best chance of leaving

Well in that scenario.....
I’ll leave out the obvious choices of Ferguson and Pennington. Other than those two, who are virtual locks to leave next season. The two others who might bail depending on the kind of offers they receive and how well they finish this season; Ronnie Brown (Parcells isn’t going to pay him top 5 money, for non-top 5 production) and Dan Carpenter (Parcells won’t overpay for a kicker, but many other teams will).
Again, this is why I love this site. A good mix of excellent Dolphin topics and some nutty stuff too,.......love it !!
Not to mention I a big on post with pictures…..
I’m thinking A. Fasano, Fergie are out of here.
Fasano due to younger better TE’s ( am I wrong )
Fergie will go the way of Vonnie Holiday……..But really, I have no clue what the Trifecta will do.
Just win this Sunday !!!!!!!

The only guys that I want to keep is Fergie, Jones, Polite and Carpenter
yes I want the Dolphins to trade RB. I do not like BIG contracts for rb’s with previous health issues
I probably know Judo! How many of you can make the same boast?
ronnie brown is the center of our offense
losing him would be a huge mistake

SERIOUSLY
I can’t believe ppl wanna get rid of brown. He is one of the best rbs in the league and him and Ricky are imo the best running back tandem. And second if Brown leaves that means the wildcat is dead. Do we really wanna go from contenders to below average again?
