He's 35...

… and if he doesn’t pick it up some in the rush the quarterback department… Idk if the team would bring him back…

… he may just have lost a step… Idk…

… I’d like him to stay until HE decides to retire..!

Always welcome back in my book....he could be 45....i dont care.

Jason Taylor didnt seem to lose a step returning that fumble for a TD vs the Jets….something younger players on this team need to do before we crown them his replacement

Happened last year when Merling caught the INT against the Jets and Favre threw the pick and he ran it back for 6 .

i dont think the Raiders will be that stupid

and are ya forgetting what this man did for us last year, i mean sure this year he ant as great but are u literally just going to throw him out like that. i would like both to end their careers in Miami, once joey Porter gets by that injury he will get better i guarantee it. as for Wake they said they plan on giving him more playing time since how well he performed against the Patriots, so so switching here and there to rest both J.T AND J.T

JT is making enough impact if not as much as you'd expect from JT

Should be good to keep him on… maybe he can take over the weak side again and then we could see something good in our pass rush.

Man this will be a tough decision for the Trifecta

if JT wants a raise then I say no.. but if he still wants the 1 million 1 year contracts then I say yeah we should do it

I probably know Judo! How many of you can make the same boast?

For the right price...

JT would be ok to bring back on the cheap. JP is done in my opinion. Regardless of the status of JT & JP, linebackers should be picked early and often in the draft.

Why'd I think he was 39?

cut him loose...

go young, draft draft draft…

by dlux2561 on Nov 11, 2009 5:40 PM EST reply actions

As a weak side linebacker he'd have 8 sacks...

Your not realizing that the one game he played weak side he had 2.5 sacks, i know it was against the bills but it just shows when he is strictly attacking the qb and not dealing with the TE and coverage, he’d be able to get a lot more sacks…he’s still in great shape and I would love for him to go to weak side and Wake on the strong side or switch them up… I am ALL for loyalty in a team but Porter really isn’t producing and I do think it is his injury but at the same time do I think he’ll put up those numbers again next year or if healthy, probably not…If we could get something for him I would definitely think about it considering he isn’t getting any younger. We need one of them to teach our younger pass rushers, so keep JT around since he’s been a true dolphin from day one (minus last years stint that got him realizing what it meant)….I see Wake as the future and draft one or two players and develop them. I would more than welcome JT to play as long as he is effective and he’s leading our team in sacks on the strong side with 5.5 through 8 games, that puts him on pace for about 11 which would be more than any of us expected when we signed him

Id love to see JT on weak side with Wake keeping him fresh

But that’ll depend on how apt Matt Roth is looking strong side

by metalhead86 on Nov 11, 2009 6:48 PM EST up reply actions

very true...

we also don’t know if Roth will be here next year given his antics this season but he has talent and his as physical as they come. Never hurts to have a nut job on your team, but hopefully he gets his act together. I actually hope they sit JP this week so one he can get healthy and we wont have an excuse if he is playing poorly and two so I can see more of Wake

by tonyy on Nov 11, 2009 9:59 PM EST up reply actions

They need to let him play his DE position AND put wake where he was at linebacker… and JP on the other side… man what a day that would be for the QB’s…

by PhinsFan69 on Nov 12, 2009 7:49 AM EST up reply actions

Joey never did any good strong side

In fact everyone was ready to torch him when he was playing strong side haha

by metalhead86 on Nov 12, 2009 12:21 PM EST up reply actions

can't do that

JT isn’t a 3-4 end, he was a 4-3 end. That transitions to a 3-4 LB, because they are the edge pass rushers. I think he’s in the perfect spot at the SSLB spot because he’s probably the best OLB we have as far as playing the run (maybe Matt Roth is on that level). I would like to see him on the weakside sometimes because he’s definitely good enough to get a pass rush from that side.
