Not so fast, all you wideout enthusiasts...
Sparano said earlier today that Patrick Turner probably had his best practice since joining the team. He also said that Turner could've easily been active the last four weeks, but hasn't because he wanted to get more guys out there on Special Teams. He's still developing, which gives me hope that we'll have him in uniform sooner than later. It'd be nice to see how he plays before we make a decision to look for a wide receiver during the offseason via draft or free agency.

yea, but whether he is great or not, we would still like to get a definite, proven WR

Any will do

Why do you guys think that Bowe is good?
his numbers mean nothing, the KC Chiefs were always losing so they threw to him and he got garbage time Numbers. Hes not that good. B Marsh or Boldin are the only peolpe I would want.

This is encouraging!
I have hopes for Patrick Turner.
Ginn got three years and counting to prove bust or no bust.
I can also see how if you have a rookie QB, you want to have him throw to vets like Bess and Camarillo who can help a rookie out. Hartline gets involved because he’s a great special teamer. Since our TEs aren’t doing much, why not make Haynos inactive, use Nate Garner as a TE/OT eligible (not just on the goal-line) and activate Turner.
Something odd that everyone has probably already noticed:
Wolverine Chad Henne throwing to Trojan Patrick Turner and
Trojan Mark Sanchez now throwing to Wolverine Braylon Edwards.

Dude,
Ginn was drafted in 2007. That’s 2 years and counting.

I think what he meant to say is that this is Ginn's 3rd year in the league. 2007, 2008 and 2009.
Miami will go 9-7 in 2009, predicted on 10-07-2009.

I have faith on him and all.
But we are not stupid. He has been clearly having some trouble either on practice or with his attitude. There is a reason he was at one point of the preseason taking snaps as the 5th receiver or something ridiculous like that. There was/is clearly something the coaching staff is not liking.
Now, you are telling me that “he could’ve easily dressed up for the last 4 games” yet they decided to keep him of the active roster while we clearly had no receiving threat on the Red Zone? We clearly needed the guy but he just wasn’t ready.
So cmon, one thing is that he is progressing on his development and that he will be ready to go at one point ,I actually believe he will be a good possession receiver in the NFL, but to pretend that all this time he has been excellent and what not is laughable.

But what about Wake?
He was listed as the last OLB, only active because of injury, they were dead wrong about his progress, I saw more from Turner in the preseason than Hartline, despite all the time Hartline got, perhaps their wrong about him.

Bowe is my pick of the big three receivers right now.
And hey, Sparano said those things about Turner, not me, so try not to kill the messenger. I just thought it’d be nice to get an update on him. I want to see him on the field and find out if we need to go wideout shopping (I am leaning towards “yes”).
And speaking of Wolverines throwing to Trojans, has anyone noticed that we draft A LOT of Big Ten players? Some have worked out thus far (Long, Davis, Hartline), some are still in question (Ginn) and some really f’n sucked (Jamar Fletcher).

hahaha "the messenger", got it.
In my opinion, even if Turner turns out to be a good receiver, which I think he will, he is not really a prospect to be a #1 receiver. Don’t get me wrong, I think he can eventually be a serious threat as a strong possession receiver, but just as long as he is playing opposite a typical number one. Think Turner on one side, Bess or Hartline in the slot and Vincent Jackson on the other side. Or just one of those classic number ones.
Bottom line, even if Turner steps up his game, we still need to get ourselves a true number one receiver.

I agree
It’d be nice to have a receiver who actually scares opposing secondaries.
And what do I have to do to get rec’d around here? I am not really familiar with the process.

Thing is
I think we should get Turner in there to see what he brings to the table but if he dont pan out we need to get a proven physical wide out we cannot take a chance with getting one by fa’s(Wilford) or in the draft we have pretty bad luck with drafting wideouts to begin with and letting good one’s slip(well it is a 50/50 chance we just seem to not have the luck)a guy like Bowe would fit fine and it will make Ginn better as well

Yep, I agree
Some people seem to have an aversion to Bowe but I think he’d fit in great with our offense. He hasn’t had ANYTHING to work with Kansas City and would probably welcome the chance to play on an offense that has our kind of rushing attack.

Wow,
not that easy to read when you run it all together like that.
I agree that we still need to go out in the offseason and trade for or draft the right guy.

All the words are just run together.
But also agree that hes not going to be a number one type receiver so i say we go ahead and try to get one in the offseason who is not too old to develope through with the rest of the young players on the roster as we build up to becoming superbowl contenders

This is the reason I am looking at drafting Arrelious Benn
I am not sure how Dez Bryant’s ineligibility will affect his decision to come out, but Benn is the real deal. Plus we can’t break our streak of drafting Big Ten players in the first round (three and counting…).
