PrintFinally - the Dolphins get their first "W." The ground game was dominant and Chad Henne did not make mistakes. But the defense was the story today, sacking Trent Edwards six times and intercepting him three times.
We'll have much more later in my typical post-game recap post tonight/tomorrow morning.

I remember I was at a wedding 5 or 6 years ago
I had the flu and it was one of those rare cold days in Miami.
You have no idea how difficult it is standing for an hour trying not to sneeze, cough, vomit or pass out.

This was a great game
Yeah, there were problems with the O-line, but give them a break. If you rush for 240 yards 6 sacks aren’t a big deal. If you win, 6 sacks aren’t a big deal. Sparano is gonna have that O-line ready to go Monday night, no doubt!
I am just so stokeda bout all the freakish numbers we put up on the Bills. We could have beaten three very good teams before this, but now I KNOW we’re here when we do THIS to a bad team. All right, you lose close games to good teams, but you do what you should do and beat the bad teams. That’s what good teams do. We’re getting closer and closer.
I loved too what Henne did. It wasn’t a lot but it was enough to keep us going and I think he’s gonna do great. He’s gonna be under the microscope but I’m not worried for him. He can handle the defensive pressure, Sparano’s pressure, and the fans’ pressure. He can handle it.
Earthwake is my favorite player. Him and Henne are gonna carry this team for a decade.

I also wanted to see what we did today especially being able to pass on a horrible cracked secondary plagued with injuries, however I wanted to see some of those long balls being caught, but like they said in the broadcast, it’s better overthrown and out of the way of the defender, rather than underthrown right to the defender.

So, next up..
Patrick Turner and Chris Clemons need to be active and playing. Vontae Davis gets lots of PT, takes a pick to the house. Hartline gets PT, gets his first career TD. Henne in his first start, posts a +90 rating and wins. Wake gets significant PT, tallies 3 sacks and a FF. PLAY ALL THE YOUNG GUYS! Even the OL looked awesome today, if you take away every pass play lol.
Seriously though, our running game is ridiculous, and the Run D is amazing.

yeah, and the important point about the D - Porter was on the bench.
JT plays better on the weak side, with Wake on the SS. I don’t think they should change it up when Porter gets well.
Wilson missed another big tackle. Agree with you about Clemons. And i would rather see Davis, Smith, and W. Allen on the field at the same time, than Nate Jones.
Ricky still looks faster than Ronnie, but Ronnie is a terrific inside runner out of the WC. They are an awesome tag team.
Hartline looks like the real deal – a reliable WR – a little more speed than Bess or Cammy, able to get open a little deeper. Where the hell is Turner?
And Henne – what a difference a week of practice makes, huh? The guy is getting better. I won’t say he’s great, but he didn’t make any real dumb mistakes, and he made some good decisions. i believe he will improve week over week.
Ginn is still a knucklehead. Running backward again on the return? Didn’t someone tell him not to do that? And the end around was for a lotta yards, but i believe it would have been a TD if he had read and followed his block. All he had to do (already at full speed) was continue to take it outside instead of cutting back in.
Other than Ginn, STs is starting to look pretty good, although we still don’t have a real return threat.
This was the most complete game I have seen the Fins bring for a long time…. probably including the games last year. It wasn’t a single aspect of the game or team that won it. Everyone was involved. Very cool! GREAT Win!

Incredible running game. Talk about the perfect recipe for a young QB in his first start.
TOday i think the 09 dolphins did a great impression of the 08 fins….efficient, opportunistic, making plays, smart football, forcing turnovers.
JT looked like, well, JT, and Wake was a hit in his first start. Nice to see us get some takeaways too, pick 6 for Vontae and heck even will allen of butter finger fame, got a pick :)
Not surprised at the dink-dunk approach either. You have to build Henne’s confidence and the short game seems like a start.
Pass protection looked awful though – six sacks……..against the bills? We best pick it up when we deal with better pass rushers.
We get the jets next so how about we put them in a nice 2 game losing streak?!

Everything except pass pro looked awesome. Even Henne looked efficient, and we took some shots downfield, just didn’t hit them. I think that’s more a product of no big play WR, because all the shots we took, guys were well covered. The 12 yd hook route to Hartline and Bess was there all day, and the ball came out right time and got there in a hurry.

Not knocking you others, but Natalya always cuts the (blank) and gets to the real stuff.
The protection has to get better and Wilson has to be looked at. Can Culver tackle better?
But to me the big story is Chad Henne. If he can build on this performance in the next game against a legit defense like the jets, well, then we’re on our way.
All said and done, I liked what I saw. It was particularly nice to see JT make stalwart edge-setting plays and get to the QB. He’s been knocked by some fans, but really he’s been a good run stopper, which is what they’re asking him to do.
And Wake? Can’t help but like what you saw today.

ST did look good
we had a few really nice returns by Cobbs, and I think that may have been a product of the fake reverses to Ginn (I called it “using Ginn without actually having to use him” in the game thread lol) that kind of forced some hesitation on the coverage unit and allowed Cobbs to get the next level.

That was a fun game to watch….total control from start to finish..i was kinda pisses tho because after the feildgoal to go up 3-0 i went to make a sandwich and when i got back “the dolphins just scored 10 points in 15 secs” i mean wtf mate?! But on the real BIG test for the OL monday…there gonna blitz the shit out of henne!

to the sidelines after his TD interception. Tony grabbed his

we can beat the Jets next week, should be a good one, # 1 running attack in the NFL against one of the top Ds, Sanchez can choke if you put pressure on him, hes still a rookie, Miami should blitz him nonstop.

Positves and negatives
Positves I loved the running attack, demolished Buffalo, and I liked how Henne handeled himself, didnt make mistakes, I think they should let him throw somemore. The secondary stepped up nicely, quite a turn of events from the last few games, we still have a tough season afead of us.
Negatives The Oline, did a poor job protecting Henne, give that guy more time and he can make plays, its gonna be big against the Jets, they need to protect him.
I think maybe we should work on some roll outs for Henne to help slow down the pass rush of the Jets.
