Miami Dolphins release rookie tight end John Nalbone
The Miami Dolphins have released rookie tight end John Nalbone from the team's 53-man roster.
Nalbone, a Monmouth standout whom the Dolphins selected in the fifth round of the 2009 draft, hadn't been active all season.
It's likely the Dolphins made this roster move to activate one of the players on the team's eight-man practice squad in time for Sunday's 1 p.m. game against the Jets.
Nalbone was one of four tight ends on the team's roster, which includes fellow rookie Kory Sperry, who is a member of the practice squad.
It's possible Nalbone could be added to the Dolphins practice squad early next week if he isn't claimed by another NFL team.
