DRAFT 2010....
I know its very early...but we must do whatever we have to, to draft Dez Bryant. Although a perfect candidate for a bust, if the kid turns out to be a freak, a young connection between him and Henne could have us playing in Superbowls in years to come. Weve got a good young D. Excellent coaching. The best running game outside of Minnesota (arguable). If Henne can be what hes hyping us all to be.... then what more would we need than Dez Bryant. On a side note, our draft from 09 is starting to look amazing. We have some young studs at corner, reminds me of 23 and 29.

YES! Draft talk!
And yeah, I love what Vontae and Sean are doing for us. Vontae looks like a champ right now, and I’ve really been impressed with his work ethic and contribution on special teams. I think this guy is going to do great things for us.
As for the draft, one guy I am starting to really like is Eric Decker from Minnesota. He is big, fast and has fantastic hands.
I still think we lock up our defense in next year’s draft. Soliai is starting to look great at NT, so I don’t know if we go there in the first round. I am thinking we grab Rolando McClain at ILB, and then look for Jerry Hughes from TCU in round two. Hughes is 6’2, 255 lbs, and is possibly one of the deadliest edge rushers in the country right now. He’s got 3-4 LB written all over him.
Everyone is high on Terrence Cody right now, but I still like Oghobaase as our future NT. He’s 6’6, 300+ lbs, and is a FORCE at the line of scrimmage.

I think we should get Taylor Mays or Eric Berry
If not Brandon Spikes is another great option.
We just need a playmaker on defense
I think we should address the WR problem in FA
Ronnie Brown is the man

OH MY GOD!!!!
Can we at least get through the first half of the season before we talk about the draft please???? Fellas, there are so many games left and we are still trying to get back into the thick of things..Why dont we enjoy what’s left of the season and leave the off-season to be spoken about when we can’t watch our phins on a weekly basis. Cause come June, July, and August, we wont be able to contain our excitement for the season to start, so why end it prematurely by talking about something in April, when it’s only October?
Of course Tom Brady has to marry someone with Giz in her name. How fitting???

No. We can't wait. Just don't read it if you don't like it
I look at draft stuff year-round, so I am always game for talking about college players who could take us to the next level

Yeah but come on...
Draft crap is way too early. Especially when I dont think anyone got ANY picks on what they “want” or who they “thought” they would pick… Can it wait until AFTER the season, so we know WHERE our draft pick is going to be? This is ridiculous

No offense, but if you don't like, DON'T READ IT
It’s a fanpost for people who keep tabs on draft stuff through the season. Draft stuff goes year-round for me. I also think it’s better to look at players now before anyone goes into hype overdrive (also known as “bowl season”).

Plus I think, as a team in rebuild mode, it's good to be aware of some of the guys who could make a difference for us
Here’s some examples:
1) Getting someone like Eric Berry would be the Ace of Spades for our defense. Remember watching Drew Brees aggressively attack the seam against us? Didn’t that suck? Guess what — that probably doesn’t happen if Berry is back there. He’s got the ball-hawking ability of Ed Reed and is also a hard hitter. I am always a little skeptical of rookies, but not with Berry. I have no doubt he’ll make the lives of opposing QBs a living hell his first day in the NFL.
2) Getting someone like Taylor Mays would add an element of fear to our secondary. A lot of passes completed against are throws over the top, with our safeties usually arriving late and not knocking the ball loose. Mays changes that in a heartbeat. Remember how good of a prospect LaRon Landry was? Well Mays is bigger and faster than Landry, and has underrated ball skills, too. With Mays in our lineup, receivers won’t be so quick to reach for balls thrown over the top of our corners.
3) Our pass rush was pretty good in the first half last week (thanks to us mixing our bllitzes up), but our linebackers are getting old and Channing Crowder is hardly a leader on the field. Of all the ILB prospects in this draft, Rolando McClain strikes me as the best leader, and he’s an absolute ball hawk at the position, too. Getting McClain in the middle — with Wake lining up at the edge rush position — sounds mighty enticing to me right about now.
Those are just a few examples of players who could help us become the defense we want to become.

Seriously dude
What kind of fan are you that you are already dis-counting this season? That’s fine that you look at college players all year round, but let me ask you this….How many players that you spent scouting last year did the Phins actually draft?…my guess is 0.
Of course Tom Brady has to marry someone with Giz in her name. How fitting???

Glad you asked. The answer is two
Vontae Davis and Patrick Turner. Thanks for playing.
And don’t question my loyalty. I am always looking at future players, regardless of our record. It has nothing with “discounting” a season or anything absurd like that. This is a post where someone asked about draft stuff, and instead of supporting what a fellow Dolphin fan thinks, you shit all over him. I don’t need to ask what kind of fan you are; I already know.

Finz, I understand what your saying but dont jump all over a guy for something your
not in to yet. You saw the title of the post and decided to come in and read anyway. When I see a post with a subject that I have zero interst in I just pass it up. Its sure not worth it to go in and try and get on to others that care about it. Why? If you want to give someone shit go see the Jets over on there blog. They have it coming.

What we need!
I think we need to figure out how to get two first rounds and get either Taylor mays or Terrence Cody, with the second pick Arrelious Benn, he is just as good as Dez. A big player with speed and he is a play maker.
If it ain't Miami Dolphins it's Crap!!!

WE NEED A VETERAN, NOT ANOTHER ROOKIE
WE HAV ENOUGH ROOKIES

if anything, get a rookie safety, but we MUST get a vet. WR

Someone mentioned getting Marvin Harrison for this season... And I can't find any reason to disagree
Just as long as he doesn’t shoot any of our players, I am fine with him. I think he could also work with Chad Henne and help him out with some areas of his game.

Negative Ghost rider
The reason why Marvin harrison isnt playing in the league is because he wants #1 receiver in his prime money. Indy wanted to resign him to finish his tenure in Indy but he refused the contract they offered because he said it wasnt enough. Do you seriously think the Fo would pay a bunch of money for a guy who is like 36? Dont think so. Marvin Harrison is not going to be like JT and take the vet minimum. He wants big bucks. Bucks he isnt worht anymore.

I didn't know he wanted #1 money
I figured sitting on the back burner for six months would adjust his career outlook a bit. Too bad because he’d be a good fit for us.

You are right but he needs to take 2 mil and call it a day. hell the season is almost half way done. 2 mil for 8 games is more than plenty.

I had no idea that thats why he was still on the streets.
I am sure that if he lets his agent know that hes changed his mind that the Phins would be one of the first teams he contacts. He has to know (or at least his agent knows) the longer he sits the less likely it is that he will ever be signed by anyone again.

Yeah, I'd have to agree on the safety, though I don't think Berry will be around when we pick
Mays, on the other hand, could very well be available, and he’d be NASTY in our secondary. Let’s see Jeremy Shockey drag him 30 yds!

Yeah, I wanted to see Shockey get blown up and instead he make us look stupid.
I know this will shock everyone because I am as big a Canes fan that there is but I hate that bastard.

They are ok
But Cody and Spikes are the two that I want in the first round. NT and LB will be the first two positions addressed in the draft. And just think we could have draft a LB early in the draft last year, but we used it on a certain “Teddy Ginn-esque” QB, lol
