Around SBN: Tiger Woods Makes His 2012 PGA Tour Debut

If there is anything I know, It's this...

We need to stop waiting and re-sign Ronnie. I think he is one of the top runners in the league out of a base formation, but I’m positive there is no single running back in the league that can run the Wildcat as effective as him. If we are going to continue making this a permanent formation in our system, Ronnie Brown is necessary. It looking like next year will be uncapped; witch will come into play and if I’m not mistaken gets rid of the ability to franchise a player, so that option is out. I personally think he is worth top tier running back money and can’t think of a reason not to pay this man.

On a side note if we could find a way to get Ricky to stick around more then next seasons, I’d have no beef with that either, but Ronnie is obviously a more pressing concern.

I'd rather find a way to keep Ricky around, he is a beast.

And could form a bruising tandem with Lex Hilliard and speedster Kory Sheets.
I have a problem giving ronnie a huge contract at his age and after the injury. Just look at Ladanian Tomlinson.

Ronnie's Contract

With no CBA Ronnie I believe is under contract next year. There is a $5Mil option for 2010 if there is no CBA. I would still like to see him get an Ext. though. By the way I hope there is no CBA and it is an uncapped year. Tell Mr. Ross to get his Check Book out and hand to Bill P. and Jeff I.

Thats correct.

The other thing that he said was there was no franchise player next year. That is actually wrong. Now instead of having one franchise or trasition guy each team will have the ability for a second transistion guy. It also limits the 4 teams that make it to the championship game to how many free agents they may sign. Its based somehow on how many they loose but I dont know the actual formula.

I think in an uncapped year teams will start dumping overpriced vets. Now is the time to clean out the books when acelerated bonus money wont kill you. That in turn could turn some of these guys in to bargains if the market is flooded. I dont think with the economy that any team is going to go bat shit crazy and just start throwing money around. Remember the only reason that there is no agreement and thus an uncapped year is that the owners want to give the players less money or at least a smaller percentage.

This is actually a good thing for Miami. If we can not trade Ginn and just dump him then no harm. That bonus was long since payed. Also if Porter shows that he can not get back to where he needs to be we can drop him as well without further penalty. I could even see a situation develop where you want to keep a guy but you think his salary is too high. If the market is flooded and money is not flying around you might be able to force a guys hand and resign him for less.
