Drop Ginn start Kory Sheets
So after that horrible showing by Ginn I'm all for just dropping him from our roster. He can not catch to save his life "career" he sucks as WR and as a football player no route running no hands and absolutely no BALLS!!! If we want speed on special teams we have Clemons and we get an even better option back there, a RB that can RUN FAST a guy that would be more willing to take a hit more than Tedd the PU$$Y Ginn. Put Sheets on special teams or anybody but Ginn and definatly take the PU$$Y out of WR role he just plane out sucks. Now I'm not making excuses for playcalling because excuses are like assholes everybody's got them especially Ginn. But if it wasn't for him we would have been able to stay on the field. did you see how many dropped balls he had? They were thrown to his hands, any other WR could have caught those passes. Ginn is just making Henne look worse.
So I looked for some of Kory Sheets highlights from Purdue and let me tell you this kid got some WHEELS!!! I believe he was the second fastest RB in the combine. I can see him running back kick returns and lighting up defenses in the wildcat!!!! He could have beat out Glenn Coffee for the back up role to Gore but got beat out because he couldn't block very well. That can beat taught and who better to teach him, then our HEAD COACH former OFFENSIVE LINE COACH Tony Sparano. This kid has VISION to, to go with that speed, watch some of his highlights on you-tube and you will see what I'm talking about. I'm glad he didn't make the Niner's starting roster, because he can be an immediate threat on our Special Teams and Wildcat formation!!!

Vontae and Sean Smith both run in the 4.4s
Clemons runs a 4.33
Sheets was 2nd fastest RB at the combine
We have speed in other players. Granted Ginn is faster, but if we can save a roster spot, who cares?
Ginn’s job is to catch balls. Not to be fast or to be shifty. None of that matters if you cannot catch the damn ball. That is why track stars cannot be converted to receivers. We had a 6’-4" guy that ran a 4.20 40 named Todd Lowber. We had to cut him because he cannot catch balls. If Ginn is leading the NFL in dropped passes, and he has lost us definitely 1 game (Indy), and helped lose another game (Saints), then what good is he? These balls hit him in BOTH HANDS and they slip right through.
I have been on Ginn’s side since he was drafted. I argued with other fans that now that Henne is in, we will see what Ginn is made of. Give Ginn a full season with a strong QB and see if he flourishes. At the end of 2009 we can pass judgement on him. I am hesitant to keep making the same arguments. He cannot catch balls in clutch situations.

give him a full season?
this is his 3rd season, and he still can’t catch the fucking ball. more time just means more drops. the ginn experiment is over, how many times do you think that henne will throw to him in the future? not many. enough is efuckingnough. ginn sucks, end of story.

I agree that he sucks. But to be fair, he had shitty QBs his first year, a weak armed QB his 2nd year
and now has the “strong-armed” QB that all the Ginn apologists swore would make him breakout. If he can’t do it with Henne, he can’t do it.
Also, if I were Henne, I would always think twice before throwing it his way

Exactly the point
The reason I say the speed is important is well because it is. But like you said if he cant catch what good is he. I didnt want to list all the speed we have because like you said Kory is not the only one, there are a lot of players with speed. I was saying lets get rid of Ginn because of the same reason you gave about Todd Lowber. I feel the only reason were keeping Ginn is because of were he was picked " #1". So that being said why not change his position? Move him to CB him being a WR with speed can benefit him as a corner all he has to do is stick to another WR we all know he can keep up with other WR so just tell him to try and catch what ever ball the opposing QB throws. It would be like he is blocking a pass since he cant catch.

Agree.
But I don’t think the FO will do it. I don’t think they will cut him after the season either. They should bench him for a game or two, but I don’t think they will because he is a home run threat.
If that is the case, then the coaches can at least give him the ball on reverses, or do some wide receiver screens out of the backfield and see if he can take them to the house.

I had the pleasure of watching Sheets the last four years
Last year was by far his best season. He had just the second 1,000 yard rushing season of the past 13 years for Purdue and finished as the 2nd all-time leading rusher behind Mike Alstott. He also broke Alstott’s career touchdowns record by 12 touchdowns. The kid knows how to find the end zone. We didn’t use him much on kickoffs, but he does know his way around special teams. His first career TD was a blocked punt returned for a score. He had at least 10 rushing TD’s in each of his four years and had a school record 16 in his final season when he was much of our offense during a 4-8 year.
Kory is a solid pass catcher too that we didn’t use enough. He had 108 catches for 804 yards and five scores in four years. His numbers, both rushing and receiving, improved every year. He was only the featured back his final year too, as he split carries three ways as a freshman and with Jaycen Taylor in 2006 and 2007.

as a jet fan i just have to say
please don’t bench ginn before you play us again. he made the catch last time, so we know he won’t make it this time. really, how bad can one guy be? he doesn’t belong in this league, much less on an up and coming team like you guys have.
