Kory Sheets = Poor Man's Felix Jones?

Felix Jones (5-10 207) 4.44 (40y); 2.59 (20y); 1.46 (10y); 4.19 (20Sh); 6.90 (3Cone); Vert 33"; Broad 10'4"; BP 15

Kory Sheets (5-11 208) 4.38 (40y); 2.56 (20y); 1.44 (10 y); 4.39 (20Sh); 7.18 (3Cone); Vert 37"; Broad 10'1"; BP 13

Kory doesn't have as good lateral quickness as Felix, but then not many do. The reason he couldn't make the roster is that he is terrible is pass protection, especially blitz pickup. Granted, Felix isn't that good either.

Solution: Don't use him as a 3rd down back. Use him in the Wildcat in the slot as the Ricky motion back.

Option 1: he comes in motion right to take the Jet Sweep handoff like Ricky (Felix Jones impersonation)

Option 2: No motion right, he catches a short quick pass from Ronnie, makes the first man miss, and gets Ronnie great passing stats with his legs (quickness, athleticism, and good hands).

Option 3: he goes downfield from the slot into a pattern and Ronnie or Pat White hits him with a pass.

I'd like to see him on Kickoff returns. Ted Ginn on Punt Returns.

Even if he doesn't catch a pass, he could help take turns with Ginn to stretch the defense

and give the offense some big play threat

Is he gonna be active or on the practice squad

Miami will go 9-7 in 2009, predicted on 10-07-2009.

He has to be on the Roster for at least 3 weeks

since he was poached from the 49ers practice squad.
He should be able to return kickoffs at least, provided he doesn’t injure himself trying to catch them with his face-mask.
I doubt he is as good as Cobbs on kick coverage, but he ought to get some tries there.
If so, I could see him activated.

I think if you pull somebody off a practice squad, they automatically go to your active roster.

That’s not to say he’ll be active for the games but he’ll be dressed as one of the “53.”

What does this signing mean to Roth?

I thought the PUP was 6 weeks, or is it six games? The front office could have used this roster spot for Roth. Things that make you go ummm.

If he gives us half as much as Jones has given the Cowboys than hes going to be

great. Felix is an absolute stud and a threat to take it to the house every time he touches the ball.

they tried to sneak him on the PS because they already had gore and coffee. i doubt his blocking is THAT bad if the trifecta picked him

Exactly.

That and maybe break one long one a game in the Wildcat.

Maybe between Sheets and Hilliard

they can fill in for Cobbs and do some things better, Sheets is faster and Hilliard is stronger.
