Roth Ready to Play

Linebacker Matt Roth(notes) said Wednesday he is healthy and ready to resume practice after the Miami Dolphins' next game.
Roth has been sidelined by a groin injury since the start of training camp. He is on the reserve-non-football injury list and said he has been told he'll be back at practice after the Dolphins' game against New Orleans on Oct. 25. "I'll be ready to knock heads off," he said. "I can't wait."
Roth will return as a reserve after losing his starting job to six-time Pro Bowl selection Jason Taylor
So what role do you guys see Roth playing once he's back on the active roster?
I see him probably being inactive for the first week back, till he gets at least a weeks worth of practice to get up to playing speed. Once he's back at that level, I wouldn't mind seeing more substitutions of the OLBs with Wake and Roth giving Taylor and Porter some breathers to keep them fresh. The addidtion of Roth I'm hoping will only bolster our run defense, I'd even go so far as to suggest Roth and Taylor being the starting OLBs, with Porter and Wake as pass rush specialists.

This are great news
This is the reality, harsh, but the reality nonetheless; Jason Taylor and Joey Porter are over the hill. Out pass rush has been nonexistent aside from the JV Buffalo game. We need some fresh legs in there. At least so that JT and P can get some rest.
This Is The Reality
Jason Taylor and Joey Porter have played incredibly stout against the run. I know many on the site have pointed to JT being lost out there but I see a guy playing out of position very well.
The OLB in a 3-4 has to get pressure in the passing game and set (please note that word) the edge in the running game. Both things they’re doing well (except for last week).
Roth is a bump in the running game but to say he will contribute in the passing game is to kid yourself.

he is just another fresh set of legs to work into the defense. Our defense already spends less time on the field than our offense. This just keeps them even fresher. not to mention the attitude he brings, the dude gets fired up.

i remember watching roth-weiler last year
he is one of those guys that gets me fired up. I just wish i could be on the side line to chest bump him when he comes off the field!!

in the videos i saw
he looks liike a guy who just needs good blocking at the line of scrimmage, and he’ll make something happen from there. Kinda like ronnie, but more finesse than power. Even though at this point Ronnie seems to have both in full effect.

Agreed, He Will Be Traded.
Trade deadline is Tuesday. They’re trying to figure out if he can practice by monday. I don’t think you can trade players on the PUP. So if he is off the PUP by Tuesday he’s gone.
I dont think he can come back untill after game 6.
