Tony Sparano just said during his "day after" press conference that Patrick Cobbs is "done." It's an ACL tear. Tough loss.

he’s our best special teams player if you ask me.
If you ask me – its time to cut some of these guys we have on special teams – and sign some fresh bodies that wanna tackle or block someone with passion.
It worked last year….we got better…we found some guys we still have like Walden. We need to make changes on special teams before it bites us in the ass and costs us a game.

It makes hella sense...
We already have Hillard active every game….so we have that 3rd RB here already. A positive is he also is a good special teams player himself…two brids….one stone.
Brandon was a good special teams player…and he is VERY familiar with what we do…and hes healthy and fresh….and HUNGRY I GUARANTEE.
Bring him back……and bring in some other guys as well.

I figured it was an ACL tear. Atleast we have Hilliard as insurance.
How do you think Hilliard will factor onto the team? Will he have the same role as Cobbs did (minus kick return duties) and can he be a factor in the wildcat?

Well he'll have to weeks to practice it so that won't be a problem.
The question is whether he can catch or hit or if he has enough speed to hit the sidelines on a reverse in the wildcat.

Some one said Cobbs was the Fins best Special teams player, but I would have to say Lex has been. Yes he had a penalty, but I always see him making the tackles or being involved in some way. He can clearly hit, and you have to have some speed to be on special teams.
I am not concerned yet.

i just watched the press conference too.
Tony Sparano love P Cobbs. You can tell that he will be missed, but at the same time we have Lex, and thats why he’s here. We have such great depth at the RB/FB position because of the way we play. TS has gameplanned for this and we shouldnt miss a step.
