Wow.

I'm speechless.  What a game!  Chad Henne might just be the real deal.  Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams are monsters. 

Just wow.

I'm going to gather my thoughts and enjoy the post-game coverage.  My usual recap post will be up sometime in the early morning hours tonight.

Dolphins win!!!! 

And where are all those Jet fans from Gang Green Nation?  Hmmm.......

Do feel free to go over there and mess with them.  I usually don't encourage it, but they were very obnoxious this week.  But please keep it clean and at least somewhat classy.

I'm not willing to crown Henne just yet...

but, HE played like a 10 year vet today. I honestly don’t believe we win with Penne at QB in this game. He got rid of the ball quickly, made fantastic decisions, and was spot on ALL night. The o-line was great, but when pressure did get through, Henne was great. 0 SACKS

My Thoughts.....

The Good:

Henne looked good…not great. Played a smart game, showed some flash and promise of things to come.

Ginn finally caught a long pass. But other than that he was invisible all game. 2 Catches, even if one is for a long TD, isn’t going to make anyone forget his multiple drops, and inconsistency….. Safeties all bit on the play action, so he was really wide open on the play, and the ball was PERFECTLY thrown. If he had dropped it, I would have visited him with a cheese grater and a smile.

Ricky & Ronnie – Unbelievable as always…. Hopefully Ricky isn’t hurt too bad.

The Bad:

No Pass Rush…. Still not getting enough pressure on the QB. Why are we only rushing 3 guys on 3rd and long? Consistently, our guys get beat on this down, and I can’t figure out why we aren’t pressuring a rookie QB. Absolutely something that needs to change.

Ted Ginn. – He gets good and bad today. Great catch, but other than that he was mostly ineffective. Step it up. You can’t go week after week after week, with only 1 catch or 2 catches a game.

Our Defense – Look, if we can’t tackle someone in the box, we’re in for trouble. If we can’t tackle people in the open field….we’re in trouble. Time after Time after Time, we put ourselves in a position where we have to drive down the field to win the game….and its because our Defense is giving up fast scores again and again. Its not just the safeties, we just can’t tackle and if we can’t tackle, we’re basically hoping we have the last possession of the game, and hoping we pull thru.

Pat White – I can’t fathom a single reason why he is getting onto the field. There is no reason to be putting him on the field for 1-2 plays….. the designed run, Ricky or Ronnie, or anyone could have run. He’s not bringing an element to our game that we are missing at this time. He’s not WOWing anyone, and he’s certainly not producing positively. PW needs to be on the bench until he’s game ready.

The Okay…

Play calling. We were a little more aggressive, but still played very conservatively on 3rd and long’s…. lets keep the pedal on the floor….We aren’t a team that can coast to a victory yet.

No, I think that when the game is on the line

we don’t need to be putting in a player that has, as you pointed out, 4 LIVE SNAPS.

If you’re going to work him in….get him in early, or when the game is in hand until he’s ready for those pressure snaps.

Becuase the entire play and strategy was confusion

it thre the defense for a loop when they saw pat white at center takeing the snap, push and spread the defense big enough to give him running room at the same time giving an pass option. This is where white excel’s at he was utilized the way he’s best played, option to run with the ability to throw at the same time confusing the crap out of the defense. First Down, Big play. Good, balsy call.

Maybe this was a way of showing that Patwhite is perhap’s starting to turn into what this coaching staff is wanting him to be now? I mean why else would you put this guy in a CLUTCH situation if you didn’t believe in his abilities?

RB and RW make stuff happen. If we didn’t have the premiere backs that we do I’d agree with you. Also, Ronnie Brown’s pass was way way more effective than Pat White’s.

He played a smart game.

He didn’t do anything explosive, he didn’t do anything stupid.
He did everything we asked him to do (which wasn’t a whole lot).

I’m a Henne supporter, but I’m not going to go and get crazy about him, when he’s dumping off passes to RB’s, and avoiding the WR’s for the majority of the game.

Henne looked good, and showed us flashes of what we all hope he is… but he’s still running a Pennington offense, remember that.

and yes, some were saying Henne wasn’t ready. Good for Mosul to say he thought so and admitted it.

Sure nobody is crowning Henne, but he looked good tonight. it is a start and a heck of a lot better than him looking bad. And don’t anyone say he won by being a ‘game manager’ or that kind of nonsense. THe running game was nowhere near the 200+ yard efforts of recent games.

Oh yeah, and we won while everyone else in the division lost. Plus we are 2-0 in the division and shut up Rex!

We dominated The Jets a lot more than the score reflects.

Let’s look at 17 of their points: Fake punt, TD. Fake punt, FG. Terrible Pass Interference call on the 1, TD.

Add onto that the ridiculous False Start call on Jake Grove and several holding penalties THAT THEY DIDN’T SHOW IN REPLAY… and we see that Miami beat a 12 man team. The fact that they had to discuss the Intentional Grounding by Sanchez is an absolute crock of shit. That group of refs should be relegated to high school football. Get the fuck out of the NFL!!!!!!

Chad Henne played like the man I want him to be, his rating was over 130 and he answered ever challenge in front of him, he even answered the most difficult challenge of letting the wildcat work, even better than Penne did at most times, that was so awesome, i cant even contain myself right now

wildcat after wildcat after wildcat was absolutely the right move, because Ryan was convinced that he had it licked, and we showed him that he didnt, over and over again, i loved it every time, it only didnt gain yards like twice

I'm talking about the time Ricky got stuffed, then they tried to run the WC again and Jenkins got him for a loss.

I agree, I just never agree with calling a play right after it didn't work.

A draw would have been perfect and surprised we haven’t seen one this year (atleast I haven’t but I don’t get to watch all their games)

What a Win!

WOW, I was surrounded by Jets fan the entire game. Every time we took the lead there was a lull. We donminated both sides of the football. We really cant expect to win football games with the miscues on Defense and Special Teams but I’m excited about our future in the AFC east.

The Jets got some cupcake calls from the referees. Both Pass interference calls were pretty silly.

Also, I’m not too sure how we let the Jets convert twice on 4th down from punting situations.

All in all, we really showed the Jets what we’re made of and there are no excuses on their end as to why we won.

Chad Henne really looked like the real deal and I’m excited by the fact of him under center for a long time!

Our defense played awesome.

There were only 10 points that were the defense fault. 17 came from fake punts and a bogus pass interference call.

Great game its about time. I was beyond excited to see that bomb from Henne and to have Ginn actually catch it..

It was…… dare I say Marioish ? It was a beautiful throw.

Aside from all the Jets knob slobbing by the officials and the commentators it was a great game.

I still say the score was 31 to 13 cus 14 of those points for the Jets were off from lame ass calls by the refs. Total fails on their part.

Henne is now our leader. Lets see what the guy can do !

I am so happy they shut those Jets up. Every Jet fan I talked to thought they had this game on lock! Even if we are 2-3, they are the most exciting 2-3 team to watch.

I have a pretty busy home life, but at work is when I do all my comments and fun on SBNATION, but my stupid work computer blocks this site, so I want to put on record I would be commenting here as much as any site I comment on but I cant.

Great game!

Only got to sporadically watch from halftime on (live in Colorado Springs so they had the Rockies collapse on at the pool hall – pool league ya know). What an up and down second half. Absolutely stoked we won and I shot my first ever perfect 8ball game tonight as well (won all 5 matches for 50 out of 50 points)! Lookin’ forward to the in-depth reviews b/c I saw areas we got burned on but all-in-all… enjoying the victory!

One of my favorite moments

was when the Jest tried the Wildcat! LMFAO!!!! It reminded me of Happy Gilmore when Shooter decided to try to tee of like Happy! LOL Priceless!!!

Man what a great win that was. Henne played brilliantly, hopefully that’s a great sign of things to come. Being able to finally utilize Ginn’s speed is going to make defenses respect our passing game more now! I’m so excited for what Dan Henning has in store for the rest of the games now!! Such a great win!

I always count on splitting the divisional series (unless we’re talking about the Bills) in the regular season so really this loss didn’t surprise me as much as it just disappointed me.

We’ll see, but I doubt you’ll sweep us.

One pass does'nt make a season

 Yes I will say that henne impressed me yesterday. But that does’nt change the fact that why due they embarrase pat white for by only giving him 2 plays granted he made 10 or 9 yards on his run but thats like not right. I mean he has enough talent to get on the field then why not atleast give him one seris of plays………..
