Around SBN: Carmelo Anthony, Amar'e Stoudemire Vow To Fit In With Lin

So Here's an idea, well, a few

Let's inactivate Ted Ginn Monday night and replace him on the roster with Patrick Turner.  The man is 6'5 !!!  I mean seriously, could he actually do worse than Teddy ?  What could happen?  At least we'd have a great sized target in the end zone who might actually MAKE the catch.

We also need to show off some of the wildcat wrinkles that the coaches swear we have.  I'd love to see Ronnie give it to Henne who then throws it long to Bess.

Finally, I hope the coaches find a way to get JT, Wake, and Joey all on the field at the same time.

No way!

Despite his struggles, teams must still respect Ginn’s deep speed, which helps create space for others.

If Ginn isn’t on the field, the Dolphins have NO big-play threats in passing game.

agreed this would be dumb

Turner really isnt that good guys. His seperation is iffy and ive seen him drop some easy balls. Not much more u can do than a jump ball. Revis would eat him up

You point out the following..

might actually MAKE the catch

The key word here is MIGHT. Turner has not proven that he can catch the ball since he was drafted. So witht hat being said at least we know Ginn can catch the ball from time to time.

Henne is now our leader. Lets see what the guy can do !

Ginn, Turner & Hartline

Should be our 3 starting WR’s – at least on paper. That’s how it was drafted to be. Turner, the big fast possesion receiver on one side, Ginn the deep threat on the other side, and Hartline the slot receiver working the short passing game ove the middle. I’d keep Bess as the 4th WR and PR and bench Camarillo.

Since Turner isn’t ready yet to overtake Camarillo, we’re left with Ginn and 3 guys who essentially play the same game. Easy to defend.

yeah 3 guys who play the same game and then ginn

the problem is, the other 3 guys play the game of football, while ginn plays, hell i don’t know what he plays. but it damn sure ain’t nfl football. i’m pulling for ginn, but it’s like pumping a dry well.

Turner

correct me if im wrong guys lacks speed hence the main reason he wasnt a picked before rd. 3

why would we put our 2 best recievers at #4 and on the bench?

Are you Ginns agent?

Well sure because you have not seen him.

Turner had adequate speed for a guy who is 6'5 1/8

He’s not Calvin Johnson or Usain Bolt or anyone like that, but he’s a big target who excels at making catches over the middle and in the red zone. I don’t think the Dolphins need Turner to run a blazing 40 anyways; they need him to demonstrate an ability to consistently get open (it will be hard for corners to jam a guy Turner’s size, which is a huge advantage in this league).

Some of the best receivers to ever play the game weren’t necessarily fast guys (I think Jerry RIce officially ran a 4.6 or something), but they all demonstrated the ability to consistently get open and make plays, which is something I hope we can get from Turner.

And I think he even slowed down towards the end of his career

but he was still a threat because of his route running and he caught everything!

turner is a redzone reciever, he is not worth deactivating someone worth more to the team

he wont be activated until a WR gets hurt or he overtakes someones special teams spot

by FishNFinz on Oct 11, 2009 9:58 PM EDT reply actions

No

Who would have the speed to clear the under routes? Let ginny play even though he is sucking it and as much as we hate on him there is reason why he is still our number 1 and thats because we don’t have any good recievers. If turner was that we would have already had him in there lol.
