Struggled to run the ball and protect Pennington, a reflection of an offensive line that's a work in progress. As long as I can remember (longer than most have been fan's) our O line has been shit Dan could have had the ring..........no O line......
over and over the story goes.....If I was in charge I would spend the bank on the O line. Could you as a D lineman stepping to the line on every 3rd ply and say to yourself who the f is this guy..I would be deep on the O line .......Ronnie and Rickey are as good as they come, belive that, Not such a good O line.. CP and Henne desirve it, we as fans desirve it..V Carrey is getting tired but has game and a little gas in the tank..maybe a trade.. o line first
The thinnest area is receiver, with Miami's wideouts totaling only five touchdowns all year. Look Ginn will get better with competition...........Bess already gets it. Ginn needs some encouragement....... Chad Johnson??? Boldin??Bobby Engram,Shaun McDonald, ?????? just thoughts The Tuna Can spot tallent at the fish market............
The dolphins defence needs a sack artist also and (one or two ) CB's
Ok two o linemen
one wideout
two d lineman
two CB's and search the free agency, for a RB or give cobbs the chance..........
With protection any of our QB's can do it
maybe trade Porter while he's hot????? Sign Crouder???
pray Greg Carmello comes back 100% Martin also/ and Smilley.
These questions will be answered but not by us but Bill ..................

I absolutely agre 10000%
about the OL. It’s the most important part of a football team. And the Tuna realizes this, which is why he spent the number 1 overall pick on a LT, and 3 of his first 7 on the OL. It’s why the first FA he signed was an OG. The OL will be addressed heavily once again, and I’ll be happy when I see it.
I also agree with trading Porter. I’ve mulled it over, and we’ll still have Holliday, Ferguson, and hopefully YBell to bring that veteran presence to the locker room. I’d like Crowder to be back, because I think he can be the emotional leader in Porter’s place. And I think we can get a pretty decent haul for him after his huge season. If we can turn Porter into 2 young starters, it was a GREAT deal.

Porter..
He would be a 7.4 million cap hit (since it would be for draft picks) and Porter doesn’t bring a veteran presence to the locker room he brings a leadership presence that Chad doesn’t bring. He brings the emotion out, somewhat like Matt Roth who is clinically batshit insane.
I doubt Porter gets that much maybe a 3rd rounder, Teams will see the midget in the corner and that is his age. Yeah he had a good season but he still going to decline soon. And you are getting rid of a sack artist that takes years to get ready (i.e. Vernon Gholston). I really don’t know if you can get rid of him just because of the cap hit, thats alot of money that Mueller invested in him and you really can’t do anything about that because you know hes not going to renegotiate it.
now
maybe I’m wrong, but wouldn’t trading him take that cap hit away? I thought you only take the hit if you cut him?
You’re right about the age, but I think it would have to be a team that thinks it’s one “Joey Porter” away from a Super Bowl next year. I can’t think of one off-hand, but that would be the team we would need to deal with. It’s probably a longshot to deal him, and I really think he’ll be here, but it’s fun to discuss because this regime is probably thinking the same things, “get younger, get better, and get value for everything we have.”

When a player is traded
The original team is responsible for the remaining signing bonus when traded.
But you’re right we do need to get younger and stronger and get value for all the old players, but I don’t think we can essentially do that. I mean we have to have some turnover but not sure about getting rid of every old player.
ok
thanks for clearing that up.
You’re right, we don’t have to get rid of EVERY old guy, but Porter’s position is one that Parcells is notorious for having a MONSTER at. LT with the Giants, I believe he drafted Abraham in NYJ, I wanna say McGinest in NE, and Ware in Dallas. Porter was that guy this year, but I can see him trying to find a STUD that can anchor the 3-4 defense for years to come.
