Dolphins Offseason Injury Updates
Donald Thomas - G
Rookie guard Donald Thomas, who was put on injured reserve after suffering a foot injury in the season opener, is already close to healthy and is expected to participate in the off-season workout program.
I'll definitely be ready by March," he said. "I'm chomping at the bit. I'll be ready for the first (off-season training sessions) and all that stuff, full go."
Greg Camarillo - WR
Camarillo tore his left anterior cruciate ligament Nov. 23 against New England but recently traded his crutches for a knee brace.
"Everything has progressed as well as you could ask," said Camarillo, who had 55 receptions and wasn't overtaken for the team lead by Ted Ginn Jr. until the final game of the regular season. "I feel good; no more pain, I can sleep well, I walk fine. I have nothing but time on my hands to get better."
With ACL rehab typically taking 6-8 months, Camarillo said his plan is to be back on the field for the start of training camp in late July.
Justin Smiley - G
Smiley remains on crutches, but said he'll be getting rid of them next Monday. After that it's continued rehab on his right leg and arthroscopic surgery on his right shoulder set for Jan. 20.
It's the same shoulder that was bothering him at mid-season, when his name began popping up on the injury report.
"I'm going to knock that off, and they say that's not more than a two- or three-week (rehab)," he said. "So I'm excited about the opportunity to play pain-free. That'd be awesome. The sky's the limit if I could play under those circumstances."

I just read this story on the PBP, too
Good news for sure. But I’m still worried about Smiley. His injury was just so bad that I’m worried that if he does make it back, he won’t be the same player.
But maybe this is just the pessimist in me.
Either way
I’m sure we’ll start exploring options in FA and the draft in case Smiley isn’t full go next year. They won’t go into next season without the line problems solved.

I am concerned about the same thing.
But we will need to wait until he starts working out to find out. I’m sure Smiley is going to be optimistic about it at this stage.
Cross yer fingers. :)

HOG #1 BACK....

"CP10 doesnt sleep....he waits"
I told you Thomas would be fine!
Also, I love Greg Camarillo. He just seems so grateful and excited about life.

I keep forgetting
that we had two huge o-line injuries. We lost Sunday because we couldn’t protect Chad. That lead to TOs, and you can’t win with TOs, ask Dallas.
Losing to Baltimore makes me wish we had one thing they have, a playmaker on Defense. A greedy ball hawk who won’t even share his cheerios with his kids on Sunday mornings. I think it would help complete our defense, which is much closer to being elite than our offense is, and getting better.
When we protect Chad and he manages the game, all we have to worry about is what our defense does. O-line + ball hawk = going deeper into the playoffs next year.
O-line
regardless of the resident opinion as to the ‘Penne-Henne Question’…our beloved Dolphins need to dominate the line of scrimmage. Both Chads need time and the R&R&Cobbs express need the gaps to run to daylight.
I hope Thomas and Smiley get well fast…and I also hope they have competition for their roster spots.

Larry Csonka
3rd string QB
wouldn’t it be wild if he outperforms henne, penny gets hurt and he leads us to the playoffs?
he's working hard. and he's ready to make plays on offense next year as our starting qb
