Around SBN: The Ten Worst Swings Of The 2011 Season

A Foregone Conclusion

Does coach Sparano and our boys in Aqua and Orange know that they don't actually have to play a game this weekend?  Apparently, the outcome of our Wild Card round playoff match-up this Sunday is a foregone conclusion.  I would be lying if I said that I didn't expect this type of reaction from the national media, but it still leaves me upset.  The Dolphins are "obviously" not supposed to be in the post season, and they are "obviously" going to get manhandled this weekend.  I cannot think of a better "backs-up-against-the-wall" type situation in which Miami could play this game, but hey, we've been there and done that.  So, enjoy the ride ladies and gentlemen, and let's hope Porter and the boys have their ears pinned back for this one!

I'll add to this list as I find more.

ESPN Insider

But all good things come to an end, and, given an opponent that already showed its vast superiority when the teams met in October, midnight is fast approaching for this magical season.

NFL.com

Flacco won't even need to throw 15 passes in this game for them to win. And they should.... And if Baltimore takes Miami to the woodshed this weekend, maybe we'll create a "Make sure that Team A didn't completely whip Team B's butt during the regular season before you back Team B in the rematch" rule. Because I think that's where we are headed with this one.

Bill Simmons

The Chargers, and the Dolphins, are frauds. They’ll each be bounced in their first games. The Ravens are going to eat the Wildcat for breakfast.... The Ravens already demolished the Wildcat and the Dolphins will be no match for them.

Pats Pulpit

All year the Ravens have had no problem beating up on lesser teams.  Miami, despite their equal record, ARE a lesser team... I just can't see the Ravens losing this game on either offense or defense... Methinks this Ravens team is way too physical for the Dolphins to stick with for four quarters.

Nope.

I love the NFL. I do remember that thread though.

"Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat." - Theodore Roosevelt

pretty cool post Daniel

it pisses me off………but you did a good job. Just can’t wait, it seems we’ve been hearing how we can’t do it all year. Time to shut some mouths and make some believers

Simmons sucks

one of his “playoff rules” is beware the overwhelming road favorite. Then he picks Baltimore. He’s retarded. That’s why his wife, who spends more time reading cosmo and fucking real men beat him head to head in picks last season. I read him because he’s funny as shit sometimes, but I don’t pay any attention to his opinions.

As far as being the underdog, I’ll say this. Last season, NOBODY gave the Giants a chance. They were picked against in every round. And they won. WOW, good call experts. The disrespect factor is off-the-charts in the NFL. When players have a chip on their shoulder, they are more focused throughout the week, they play with a higher level of focus and intensity, and they play with a hunger that usually is enough to overcome any physical differences and keep them in the game. Nobody respects this Dolphins team, and I wouldn’t have it any different.

set the tv timer for 15 minutes, and I didn’t hear it shut off. Tired Husker. He wasn’t to bad from what I saw, hopefully they’ll show it again and I can watch the whole thing.
