We all know the Dallas Cowboys are reportedly thinking about releasing Terrel Owens, but it just got much more serious. Terrel is 35 years old and has a 3.1 million roster bonus coming at him in June, plus the coaching staff has had it with his off the field antics and thinks this move could bring the team a much needed break from bad publicity.
Although he is a great player, he has a history of off-the field issues in every team he has ever played with. He was drafted in 1995 by the San Francisco 49ers and had troublosome relationship with both steve mariuci and Qb Jeff Garcia, to the extent of doubting Garcia´s heterosexuality. Then he went to Philadelphia and after a good season, in which he even played in the Super Bowl despite having a severe injury caused by a horse collar tackle, made a controversial remark against Donovan Mcnabb saying he "wasn´t the guy who got tired in the Super Bowl". Posterior to that, Owens wore a "throw back Michael Irvin jersey" in his way to the team´s airplane. So that was that with the Eagles. Then he signed for the Cowboys, and we know the rest.
So basically this is the question that is being asked throughout the national media: "If he is released, is there a staff in the league that can control him?" I for one, knew the answer but surprisingly they know it too "Bill Parcells and Tony Sparano". This is starting to get attention in the media, and the general opinion is that if there is a guy that can keep a hold of him, that is no b.s Should´ve Been Coach of the Year Sparano.
Would you as Dolphin fans like to have Terrell Owens come to Miami? lets keep in mind he would be released and basically wouldn´t cost a dime, as opposed to Anquan Boldin, and that this Front Office is really tight with the Cowboys.
We will here more about this the upcoming weeks, because this thing just got hot.
