Draft Update: Declarations

A few players made their intentions clear, over the past few days, of what they plan to do regarding the NFL Draft.

  • Taylor Mays, super-stud FS for USC, will return to SoCal for his senior season.  He was a finalist for the Thorpe Trophy, given to the nation's best Defensive Back (Ohio St.'s Malcolm Jenkins won the award).
  • Michael Crabtree, widely considered the best WR in the draft class, will be entering the draft after two stellar seasons at Texas Tech.  He won the Belitnikoff Award in both seasons, recognized as the Best WR in the Country.  He'll likely be a Top 5 pick in April.
  • Aaron Maybin, Penn St. DE/OLB also declared for the draft.  At 6'4, 245, he's ideal size for a 4-3 end, or a 3-4 rush LB.  He'll be a first day selection, and could creep into the bottom third of round 1.
