I think during the preseason we lost sight of the fact that our defense is made up of rookies, journeymen, and walk ons. Them stopping the run seems unlikely.

but all that was in THIS game. They’re young and all that will get tightened up. There were critical times that out D rose up and stopped the run, too.

I feel better about losing THIS week one game than I did last years. We showed some promise.

It will get better

I wonder how much the fact that it was the Jets and Pennington was there QB last season had to do with anything. I can’t help but think there was a bit of distraction over that if not with Pennington then maby some of the other guys on the team. Now that it is over and they came so close it has to help there confidence. I noticed he wasn’t running for his life quite as much as the QB did last year. I think the phins are going to get better every week. If Pennington can stay healthy it will have a good impact on Beck and Henne to be able to watch and learn also. I think we are heading in the right direction at least after game 1
