Team Captains Announced
Tony Sparano told the media today who were voted team captains by the players. And they are...
...drum roll...
Chad Pennington, Vonnie Holliday, and Jason Ferguson.
It's interesting that 2 of these players are ones who will be playing their first season with this organization. Pennington, even more interestingly, hasn't even been a Dolphin for a month yet. I think that says a lot about the kind of player and the kind of person Pennington is. For him to already have the respect of seemingly the entire team really makes you feel lucky that he became available when he did.
Now he can earn my respect even more by going out and beating his former team on Sunday.

Well, I’m sure they voted Favre a captain just so they wouldn’t have to deal with the whine-fest that would surely have come otherwise.
Anyways – I’m excited for Pennington. I think he will have a season very similar to Gus a few years ago. He may not take us to the playoffs, but he’s going to turn some heads and the players on the field will all benefit as a result.
I can’t wait ’till sunday!!!

Not really
QBs are usually Team Captains
Why so serious?

Congratulations, Mr. Pennington
Your being chosen as Captain shows the character you possess and also shows the respect that the other players have toward you. Your poise, your command presence in the huddle and locker room, your knowledge of the game – very well done.

although something about it still triggers a gag reflex….
well, I guess I will get over that after he leads us to a few wins. :)

Crowder?
Is anyone surprised by the absence of Channing Crowder? I personally don’t mind the team’s vote, but I thought I would ask.

Well to me that sounds bed
JUst look at crowder a guy thats been with ous for 3 years now,N i thought he woulda been able to be a captain this year…..,Wat about ronnie brown i thoght he was supposly the best player on are team now,All that money we have spent on joey porter and hes not a captain,So it realy does say alot….But to me captain or not,I believe it makes are younger players work harder so they can step up and be a captain next year…….

spreading the pressure?
Could they just be spreading the pressure around on game day?
Porter is having to think about the pass rush as welll as changing from weak side to strong side and back again during the game.
Crowder is the guy with the tin can in his helmet telling him what is happening so he’ll be busy concentrating on that and communicating the plays on the field.
Ronnie Brown will be responsible for getting himself back to the form he was showing last season and then for establishing the ground attack which is the basis for this seasons offence.
