Greg Camarillo working as a starter?
Here's some interesting news to come out just a few moments ago. The Sun-Sentinel is reporting that Greg Camarillo is now working as a starter - ahead of projected starter Derek Hagan.
With that said, it's important to note that the media only gets to watch the first 30 minutes of practice. So it could be that this is just an experiment or perhaps just a particular package. In fact, and I'm just guessing here, it would actually make sense if the Dolphins did have a package - used in 3rd and short situations - where Camarillo is one of the two receivers out there because of his reliable hands and his ability to get open underneath.
Again, that's just a guess. We'll probably have to wait until the next time Sparano meets the media until we really know anything about this potential depth chart change.

I like it!
And I think Wilford will come around and be a better first team option than Hagan also.
I still don’t care for Hagan.

agreed
Hagan just seems to disapear in games….guys an amazing practice talent but untill that shows up in the games I wont like him. Camarillio has proven (albeit only once) that he can be “clutch” when needed….give him more chances and find out! As for Hagan…if we see him get into the games early this season and he gives his usual dropsies preformance I predtict that he will be gone and Armstrong will be called up!
safe to say
the front office should be drafing a couple recievers next year.
NOOOO
if camarillo is legit a starter now instead of hagan or wilford then or depth behind ginn is worse than anything
Ice Ice Baby
if your prediction is correct
and that is a formation for 3rd down situations I think it’s fantastic. But I would still like to see Hagan progress, cos he has great potential. And Wilford will regain his hands, he has that ability to catch just about anything in traffic, and i like that pass he caught against NO, when he got sandwiched by 2 defenders and still held on and stayed in there even though he knew he was gna get smacked.
Sunday is going to be so awesome
NO
IF CAMIRILLO IS A STARTER WE SHOULD HAVE LOOKED AT ASHLEY LELIE.
CAMIRILLO IS A VERY POOR MANS WES WELKER…VERY POOR
Its Sunday afternoon.....do you know where your beer is?
no hes not even thats
he’s only good at 64 yard passes in ot to salvage a teams dignity
other than that…he sucks

reposting here for your benefit. :)
bullshit.
I am not buying into this crap about "ooooooh, Camarillo is the starting WR so we are in big trouble……oooooooo nooooo……."
bullshit.
From everthing I have seen of him, Camarillo is money. I hear all these bitches about trading Welker (I think it has been like, "you don’t trade your best WR"), and then another guy comes along that looks a lot like Welker did early in his Dolphins career, and everyone is crying because he is playing really well? I don’t usually get to wrapped up in these arguments, but stoopidity peeves me.
Camarillo is an unknown. Check.
Camarillo was a waiver wire pickup. Check.
Camarillo does not have blazing speed. Check.
Camarillo is not 6’4" 220 lbs. Check.
Camarillo doesn’t have a cool name. Matter of opinion, but I’ll go along with it. Check.
Camarillo is a good slot guy. Check.
’Bout sum it up? For all of you whiners? Did i get all of your reasons why it is disaster that Camarillo is starting this game?
How about the counter argument…
Camarillo catches the friggin football. Check.
Give the guy a chance to play and judge him on the results.

Although
if Wilford does step up and starts using his height to catch anything in the end zone, I won’t complain.
sounds great
but which one is Moss
or for that matter welker?
;@)

I thought it was funny
when Pennington joined the team and apparently asked Hagan where he likes the ball to be thrown. In an interview, Hagan laughed and said something like I told him man, don’t worry about it, just throw the ball up there and I’ll get it!
That's not funny,
that’s cocky and stupid. No wonder he doesn’t have the chemistry that Pennington/Ginn have.
I think ALL the receivers could
learn something from Camarillo because after watching ALL our preseason games for the 3rd time, just so I could focus on individual play vs. unit,he is no doubt our best blocking receiver and will flat knock the FK out of anyone near him,not to mention he is a VERY smart receiver, runs great crisp routes and has great hands.
Hagan will be fine but I understand the doubts about him because he never seems to deliver but has such great abilities and THAT is what pisses me off about him..he could be so special if he would just get his head outta his rectum.
I am SO fkn pumped about this new regimes tude and how infectious it is and how the players are selling out for the cause because THAT is what builds DYNASTIES guys and I/we have waiting long enough!

I agree
Camarillo is a worker he wants to play, he reminds me of Wes Welker in a way.

Wow you just crushed
my Kool-aid High…
here i’ve been drinking the Kool-aid and working on my game by game break down… thinking 9-7 isn’t that absurd
(well maybe a little) and if things break right they could steal one and go 10-6 and make the playoffs….
now I read this… and the brain just crushed my heart… no way a team starting cam 16x is winning 5 games….
we all knew reciever was a weak spot, but this is bad!!! really 33rd out of 32 teams kind of bad….
Time to go old school – Ginn on one side, two TE, and ricky and ronnie ….
naww... it's not so bad..
between Cam and Bess, we have some very solid possession guys. If we can just get Wilford, Hagan, or London to become a reliable endzone threat like Gadsden used to be, we have a workable WR corps.
