Dolphins vs Patriots Post-game Thread
VICTORY!!!!!!
It's safe to say that Ronnie is over his knee injury. Damn did he look good.
But kudos to Dan Henning and this coaching staff for some creative play-calling. The Pats (and the great Bill Belichick) had no answer to that amazing formation with Ronnie at QB.
Amazing.
Oh...and I will now get off Joey Porter's case. He "walked the walk" and them some - tallying 3 sacks and a forced fumble.
Full recap post coming late tonight.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday, all!

Hey Guess what....
We DO have a good offensive line! LOL! Props to the O/line, Penny, the defense, and especially Ronnie Brown. That first touchdown was the best play I’ve ever seen from a Dolphin running back. BTW, good call Joey Porter!

ALL the kudos
go to BP for telling Henning IF he didnt get his head outta his rectum that he was FIRED.
Ive said all along that we have weapons and good scheming and play calling would prove that and today it FINALLY showed.
Football is easy when you use a common sense approach to fix problems and spreading D’s out with 3-4 and 5 wideouts is the common sense approach to solve a poor running game.

such a great reward 4 all dolfans all around the globe ! Don't give up, Dolfans !!

I've said it here before and I'll say it again
Ronnie brown is a BEAST!!!!! Do you think the coach realizes, by now, that he should have been the starter?
SAME thing happened last year – split carries for 2 pitiful games, than BAM he exploded onto the scene.
Thanks for the ass-kicking.
Full credit: everything the Dolphins did today worked brilliantly.

They used Ronnie the same way Florida uses Tebow sometimes. The Pats had no answer for it either. The great Bill Belichick was beaten by a simple college spread play… that makes me happy.

hahaha
sometimes Ronnie gave it to Ricky around the end, and it worked. Sometimes he kept it, and it worked (3TD’s). Once he rolled and threw it, and it worked for a TD. I damn near chest bumped my TV, my dad, my mom, my dog, and the front door. The guy with the handle “firedanhenningnow” should probably change that for now, he called a terrific game in a big spot.

Jumping , beer in hand, SMACK! The first touchdown really answered tons with one play….can ricky and ronnie be in the backfield at the same time? YES Can we finish off a drive? YES Can the coaching staff call the right play? YES YES YES!!!

IF those schemes
and game plan were his idea then I’ll gladly change it to “iwishuwasmygrandpadan” :)
In all seriousness..I just realized we had VERY capable weapons and if given half a chance that they would be VERY productive while MOST were saying this ones a bust and that one sucked and this one is barely an NFL receiver and blah blah blah when I knew better and it was just VERY frustrating knowing that Dan was holding them back and just wanted him to be creative and use his imagination for a change but never in my wildest dreams did I envision the direct snaps to Ronnie so many times but after reading that Lee had something to do with some of it it makes more sense now and I wonder just how much of the game plan was really Henni’s or Lee’s and I dont care just as long as they keep attacking opposing D’s because today looked like an ALL DAY Country Ace whooping and against the team I dislike the most.
I havent watched the game a second time yet but as I watched it today,I saw A LOT that was left on the field and after they watch the tape, the skys the limit and I would say that Henni’s ULTRA Conservative style is history..I sure hope so because this score was no fluke and we can score like this against ANYBODY and with the most accurate passer in the history of the NFL,the risk of this style of O is minimal at best!

I heard that
from ESPN, it was especially brought in to beat the Patriots style of defense. They are used to the study of game film (legally or illegally obtained lol) and Henning and Co. knew that, so like in judo, they used the opponents weight against them. One game is one game, but if he keeps it going, keeps it fresh, and keeps the defenses guessing…..you may need a name change! lol

I like iwishuwasmygrandpadan because even if you change it and Henning doesn’t continue the genius he showed yesterday, you can just convert it to Marino

Finally
Finally a glimpse of potential with a young team. I though that they looked great overall with the exception of special temas again! That needs to get straightened out fast!
To all the Porter haters (this does include you Matty) … maybe it’s time for you to shut your yaps! He may not be the player he once was, and he may talk too much, but he spoke the truth (at least for once) and you all bashed him. I should be seeing an overflowing thread full of APOLOGIES after the game he had and the way the game changed after getting started with HIS first sack!
Let’s all hope that the staff begins scheming immediately for S.D. in 2 weeks!
Hats off to the Coaching Staff and the Players !!!
What a brilliant display of executing a perfect game plan. Special hats off to Chad Pennington for orchestrating a flawless game from the first snap. What a commander.
Also to the O-line for allowing no sacks and ample time to make throws. To Joey Porter
for a great effort on defense. but really just the hole team and a dominating performance ….. new england had no answers at all for what we handed them today…..
An absolutely wonderful 2008 first win ! :O)
Jimbo
This was big
Not only was it our first win, and not only against an AFC East rival/current conference champ, but it was a blowout win. We took it to the house on this one.
Can’t wait to hear all the morons on ESPN finally pay us some respects or make lame excuses for why this was a fluke game.
We need to tweak our Special Teams a tad, but still… BIG WIN. This season is FAR from over. Playoffs are definitely not out of the question.
Go put some dry clothes on, Sparano!
what a great
big fluffy pillow to hang our weary head though. Regardless of how the season goes, we have this. We KNOW we can do it now!! It’s only going to get better baby!!!

And we have two weeks to enjoy it. Our team has two weeks to build off of it. Imagine the swagger they are going to have in practice preparing for the 0-2 chargers. The other great thing about this total beating of the Patsy’s is that we knocked them off their 21-0 win high horse.

solid come-from-behind victory for you today. As much as I dislike the Bills, I’ve been impressed this year with what I’ve seen from them.
Yeah, But they barely pulled it out
against a crappy Oakland team
Yeah, I know
Sorry bout that. Just feeling a little cocky right now. BRING ON SAN DIEGO!!!!

It’s nothing. We have one impressive win and two lucky ones; we could just as easily be 1-2. I’m happy, but by no means satisfied.
Your 38-13 drubbing yesterday was far more impressive than our 34-10 drubbing of Seattle. You have that on us to be sure.

I have the game Tivo'd
I think Ill watch it again next Sunday and relive the whole experience over again : ). I still wish it wouldve been Brady in there.
MATTY I
In all seriousness, where’s Miami’s offense going to come from? You know New England will make it a point to stop the ground game, forcing Chad Pennington to throw early and often. And historically speaking, Bill Belichick defenses have given Pennington fits, with Chad having thrown 9 interceptions in 7 career starts against New England.
So I’ll say the Pats win 24-16. How about you all?
THANK GOD THEY PLAY THE GAMES HUH MATTY?

In all seriousness, where’s Miami’s offense going to come from?
Ronnie Brown… 5 TDs enough offense?
Are you picking up what I'm putting down?
Last Week I put all the blame on the coaching staff for
not having this team ready to play…….This week I give all the credit to the coaching staff who out coached (dominated) the Pats on offense and D. I hope they take this into the bye and build on it…….Oh yea that play with Ronnie at QB is unstoppable, use it every game 5-8 times………One thing about our D we can get to the QB…..This team will get better each week and will resemble the team we saw today compared to what we saw last week. That is encouraging…….Take a Bow Mr. Sparano you deserve it….what a way to bounce back!!!!!!
Our rookie coaches
out coaching the mastermind Bill Bella-chick, IMAGINE THAT!!! Oh wait! We dont have to, they did.
Is Bella-SHIT!! for US!! LOL

"The only reason Miami won
was because Tom Brady wasn’t there", someone told me. I replied, “I didn’t know that Brady played defense, too.”
that play is unstoppable lol
its the glitch play in a video game…its cheating almost
u can hand it to ricky….ronnie can go wither way on the run or run with ricky and option flic it whenever….
then if ronnie runs he can throw it too! and i bet it freaked everyone even more to see him throw it lefty,.ahahahahahahah
i bet they were like hes left handed??!!!!
thats a good play to spread them out and run a qb sneak with ronnie as well….like Tebow does.
im seriously in overload happiness state of shock right now

Congrats fellas!
Other than Ronnie, I really feel happy for Sparano in particular for some reason, I suddenly realize I want him to be our coach for years to come. Dude cracks me up and cracks the whip.
And how good does it feel to have Joey Porter on your team when he backs his ish up?

Joey Porter captured my heart when he kicked that ball before The Jets game.
I think he cursed their kicker into injury!
this is an important win.
First off, its against the patriots. Yeah i know they were a little banged up and brady wasn’t starting, but its still the team that was undefeated until today.
The dolphins put an end to the Patriots reign of constant wins.
secondly, the monkey is off their back now. No longer are there whispers of “last year.” This team has done what it took nearly an entire season to do last year. They won a game. More importantly, they’ve done what no team has been able to do since 2006: Beat the patriots in regular season play.
This team has proven to themselves that they CAN win games. Now its just a matter of doing it.

Great win
The team is looking much better. The play calling was terrific. Defense, solid. These new plays are going to provide serious problems for teams. Go ahead and stack the line. Bring 8, he can throw it too. Oh boy San Diego had better win tomorrow night or they will be in trouble.
rococo!!
Flywheel’s in rotation, y’all. & that’s RIGHT!!!

Seeing the Backs of their heads
as they scurry from the stadium before the 9 total Dolphin fans in attendance start talking shit, PRICELESS! Seriously, who leaves a game before the 4th quarter starts? Who booes a team that hasn’t lost in the regular season in 2 years? New England/Boston fans have been spoiled by the last few years, it’s like they forget that all their teams sucked in the past.
Let’s get our own winning streak going… 2 weeks San Diego is gon’ get it!

They want no part of the R&R Express… Ronnie is one of the best backs in the league no doubt, and our OL was like a fleet of bulldozers today just plowing the road. Psyched as hell for the Chargers game… gotta find something to keep me busy during the bye.. anybody up for a pickup game??

that was the one
where he lawnmowed Ellis Hobbs at the goalline right? I’d be screaming too if I wrecking-balled some tiny guy on my way to beating the piss out of New England… my god he plays with intensity though..
I want Ronnie on this team for YEARS to come, and I would expect him to get his extension, no matter the price, if he continues to perform like this. Last year he was the best back in the league for the first half of the season, and he was back to form in this game… one of the true complete backs in the game right now.

What a game, I almost got teary eyed hearing Sparano’s post game interview. The team really need this win to make them feel good and the coaching staff as well. I dont know what the vegas odds were but Im sure we were lopsided under dogs coming in. Of course I did a bonehead thing today by benching R. Brown (doh!).
