Quinn, Ginn, and Beck

I have noticed that many writers around the country are still holding on to the Brady Quinn-Ted Ginn situation. They're making it seem like Dolphin fans are somehow not behind Ginn bcause of what happened last April. Personally when they anounced Ginn with the 9th pick I was pissed off. The reason was not because Ginn wouldn't be a pretty good player but because of the fact that we had a guy like Trent Green who could go down at any time, and once again it looked like we passed on a potential franchise QB who looked like he was ready-made to start as a rookie. Plus I knew we would be lucky to win any games and I was right about that.

We didn't draft Quinn so that's over. At this point no one knows how good he or Beck is or will be so right now I'm happy with Beck and Ginn. If neither Beck nor Henne isn't the answer we'll find another one and I'm fine with that. I just wish reporters would stop talking about that issue because that's history now; Ted Ginn is a Miami Dolphin :)

agree 100%

I wasn’t happy, either, at the time – for the same reason you give. I wasn’t against Ginn as a player. I just wanted Quinn because we obviously need a QB. Although looking back, how nice would Patrick Willis look in a Dolphin uniform right now?

Oh well. Hindsight is always 20/20.

P. Willis was My Curtis Lofton Last Year

I really wanted him on the team.

I can’t wait for the preseason games to start. We really don’t know who will be what. Ginn could never be anything more than a #2 or #3 receiver who can return kicks. Or, he could be the best thing to happen to the Dolphins in years.

One thing really interesting to me is the Ricky Williams storyline. We’ve assumed he will be good (running over Y. Bell /guys remarking that they don’t want to have to tackle him) but Ricky still has a lot to prove.

That Tampa Defense will be a tall order for this Dolphins offense. This will be a telling game.

was anyone happy?

heck, i hated the pick, but unlike most I wanted okoeye or willis not quinn….
but now that the qinn family is a member of the dolphins i’d like nothing better then seeing him run by defenders 15-20 times a year….

btw: the media has it wrong (surprise). you can’t compare beck to quinn…. nothing wrong with the team choosing not to take quinn (just as there wasn’t anything wrong not taking ryan) you have to compare picks to those around them…the better question is how does Beck stack up vs edwards or one of the other qb’s who was on the board when they chose Beck.

i am a huge irish fan

so there will always a special grudge in my heart that the didn’t take quinn last year… but does that mean i don’t want ginn to succeed? no way. teddy’s got the aqua and orange on and i want him to excel!!

but i will say i’m happy i wasn’t able to watch the draft live last year, otherwise i probably would have thrown my tv out the window. sigh… go ginn, go fins..

I think Quinn will end up being a pretty good player

not great, but pretty good, in this league when he gets his chance.

As for Beck, he may not even have a future here, we’ll see come the preseason. His attitude and demeanor have never impressed me.

Ginn I see as a real football player with talent and ability, but I’m still not sure those talents will translate into him being a #1 receiver rather than a guy who can just go deep and return kicks.

Got a good point

I understand were your coming from,The past is the past and there nuthan that you can do about that anymore…If i had a choice tho i would go with quinn cuz he is gonna be a better nfl qb point blank…..Right now we could of had quinn, chambers, and rickey and ronnie,Thats way more dangerous then wat we have now…..If i had to say,Look at a player like devin hester good choice better overall player than ginn,He was choicen in the 2nd round…..We could of had lorenzo booker playing 3rd running back and kick and punt return,But atleast ginn isnt a bust…But i dont believe hes worth the 9th pick overall….

Heh you might want to worry

about Beck not getting cut or being the 3rd stringer before predicting he’s going to be better than Quinn.

Right now, Beck is having a hard time beating out a rookie and a journeyman -neither of whom have proven anything in the NFL.
