Everything have been said..

and done. Bye, Bye Beck, here we go with Keineken LOL
I’m not mad, but Henne will become another Beck because of the lack of patient AGAIN!!

I will see the Dolphins win a SUPER BOWL before i die(21 years and counting)

that's exactly what I'm worried about

It doesn’t make sense to start the season with Henne as our starter. He’s just gonna lose his confidence like Beck did last year.

Don't lose faith Matty

Beck has been improving every day. He has been the most consistent QB on the field this week. No one seemed to notice that Beck was talked about in the Palm Beach post article:

“Beck made a couple of nice throws and a couple of back decisions during his go-around.

He looked CONFIDENT in the pocket on an out route to rookie Jayson Foster. Beck also threw a beautiful deep ball to rookie John Dunlap to end the drill, but the pass was broken up near the 5-yard line by rookie CB Chris Roberson.”

From my perspective Beck is doing just fine. Perhaps he isn’t getting as much attention from the media because he is stepping up and showing that he can be the starter of this organization. Perhaps the media doesn’t want to praise him to much to early for fear of jinxing him or something.

Don’t forget about Beck!

(me)
or sparano demoted him to playing with the 3rd (and i’ll say something kind) to see if he can get beck going… and while beck playing with the thirds Henne’s having success with the firsts that neither beck nor mccown have had.

How is Henne having success with the first. He has thrown an INT or 2 nearly every 11 on 11 drill with the first and thats not including is fumbles at the snap oh and sacks…...??

ok - i'll use this one

since there are countless reports from practice about Henne outplaying the other two… I’ll go with this story with ‘player quotes’

http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/football/miami-dolphins/story/630521.html

btw… please show me any quote from this season or last where a dolphin is eager for Beck to be the QB or shows any support for him? I hope i’m wrong here, but the bills game last year showed me that he had very little support from the players last year….

in contrast with that people this year seem to be speaking of Henne’s leadership above all else…

Thank you Pilot….I’m so sick and tired of Beck getting crucified for his mistakes yet he has been the best QB this week in camp and you dont see McCown getting crucified and certainly not Henne(by the way I belive that McCown has the most INT out of all QB’s from camp). This bothers me. Just so you all know…I’m not impressed with Henne at how good he has played at camp. He should be good at camp. Beck was awesome in camp last year inf act better then Henne was this year and beck was surrounded by horrible talent…

Is this good Enough.

I dont see Dan Marino giveing support to Henne.

Miami Herald - November 18, 2007 - D3

FLORIDA SPORTS BUZZ: Ex-QBs support Dolphins’ Beck
bjackson@MiamiHerald.com Lots of John Beck chatter: ** Even before debuting Sunday, the Dolphins rookie has elicited the confidence of several prominent former quarterbacks. Last week, CBS’ Phil Simms and ESPN’s Ron Jaworski - who have studied Beck’s tapes - joined ESPN’s Steve Young in predicting success. “He’s going to be very good,” Jaworski said off the air. “I like him a lot”...

well get me

some comments from them after they watched him play last year… Beck has some serious turnover issues that he HAS to resolve before he can become an NFL starter…

(btw: i wouldn’t ever go to steve young for a football quote… the guy is likely the least prepared guy on tv)

so what??

never heard me say I was happy mccown is a dolphin? did I ever mention I want him as a caretaker? I want the future and Henne is the future.

by W NY Fins Fan on Aug 7, 2008 12:05 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

What is this??

A public linking media?
Forget what others have to say about our qb situation. Beck or Heneken, both are import beers, went local beers are going to play for us? LOL
For real, the one’s that support Henne, he is a good kid and we are not in a rush to star him, or at least, that is what i understand. WE ARE RE-BUILDING. We have to be patient. Let Beck star this season and see what is his limit, HOW can you guys stated that Beck suck, went he was playing without an OL, RB’s, no WR(CC was trade)+ the one that is in the patsies(forgot his magget name). You have to be kidding me if you beleive he suck with that escenario, it doesn’t matter if it was Buffalo or whatever. He was a rocky without talent surrounding him. He played Pitt, Philly, co’mon, put some sense on your attacks to Beck. Henne WILL be OUR FUTURE, and must of you has say it, but the future is not NOW, Henne just GOT HERE. Let him be behind Beck for a year at least. At the end, it will be great for everybody, but if we throw Henne in there, we all are going to loss on this one.

I will see the Dolphins win a SUPER BOWL before i die(21 years and counting)

This QB pecking order makes sense

McCown- His job to lose. Veteran presence, probably gives team best chance to win 5 or 6 games.

Henne-His job to win. Drafted in 2nd round, yes I know not first 2nd round pick but second round none the less, by a front office that values 2nd rnd picks. They would not have held out on the JT deal so long if they did’nt value them. The don’t give them away (should read getting A J Feely and getting rid of A J Feely)

Beck- Odd man out. Unless he does it better faster and sooner. Not fair to a young QB in second system in 2 years, but life is not fair.

The usual QB dynamic goes Veteren starter, QB of the future and project drafted late. When this is not the case you end up like Arizona or God forbid Green Bay.
This means either Beck or Henne probably has to go at some point.

couldn't agree more, except

i figured that this was the plan… let beck/mccown fight it out for the caretaker position and hope one plays well enough to get a pick for him, but Henne is outplaying them by all reports (or at least playing as well as them)... so now the coaching staff is looking if Henne is able to start from day 1…

(phyrumn)~~This means either Beck or Henne probably has to go at some point.~~

yup, that is the likely outcome, and I wonder which one is most likely to go???

Beck for QB

I think Beck is more poised in the pocket and he hits his WR across the middle and RBs coming out of the backfield. He is staying within himself the first two weeks of practicies and he constantly hits the WRs on quick outs and even some of them down the sideline. He doesn’t go deep very often in the first couple of weeks because he knows thle OL will not give him time for more of the deeper routes this early in TC. Give him time and he will prove to be the best QB we have. I remember in pre-season games last year he showed he could make good decisions with the ball and even pulled a QB sneak for a TD to win us a game. You Nay Sayers just give him time to get timing and learn the new system because, he is really still a rookie in most respects. The team support he had last year certainly didn’t do much for his confidience or please the Dolphin fan base. Just give him some time….

I agree

The point that all you Beck haters are not getting is that if Henne was in the same situation as Beck was last year….I gurantee he would not have done any better then beck under the same curcimstances. He might have been even worse. I like Beck A lot and he will be a great QB Its just unfortunate that he was put in the situation from last year. I dont want to hear one more thing about how great Henne is until he plays in a real game and I dont mean a presaeson game how about playing his first regular season game at Philly in front of the most irritating fans in the NFL, then we can talk about how “great he is” and how “he is the next Marino”(BTW there will never be another Marino)

i'm all for it

~~ I dont want to hear one more thing about how great Henne is until he plays in a real game~~

lets all hope he starts game 1 vs the jets and then we can put to bed the QB questions for the next 10 years.

Nice to see Roth impressing at OLB.

Why so serious?

I was at that Eagle game.

You are right about the fans being “the most irritating.” I also remember Halterman dropping an easy touchdown pass from Beck that would have changed the whole game. We always fail to remember the little things that make the QB look less than they are. We know Henne will be on the roster next year but we are not certain about Beck and McCown. McCown needs little evaluation. It is up to Beck to determine his own destiny and he will be afforded that chance. Start him in game one.

But then aGINN and a note on the QB's

From Mike Lombardi’s blog:
“Ginn has a history of drops and he is very inconsistent with his ability to show great quickness and burst. He has long speed and will make plays down the field, but he does take a moment to get going. He is not very sure-handed and he has very weak wrists. The ball never stops softly in his hands and he is always bending his wrist to make the catch. This is not a good trait for wide receivers to possess.”

Let McCown play now and absorb the beatings and the losses…let the two youngsters, watch and learn…niether one, Henne or Beck, has a pronounced advantage over the other…if either one pans out, the Management won’t care, they just need one…they have two young ones and they hope one will work out…it’s speculative investing…there is little upside for either one to play this year since the supporting cast is not so hot, other than a good to better than average rb situation…

Everyone is basing these opinions

on 2nd & 3rd hand reports, by and large with a few exceptions.

Let’s watch the game saturday and then we’ll all see the QB’s perform and can make up our own minds.

I don’t have a problem with Henne starting, if he ends up outplaying the other two. While Beck may have lost confidence, that doesn’t mean Henne would as Henne may have more ability and be mentally tougher.

Again hypothetical, but I wouldn’t assume that because Beck played bad last year, that Henne would this year. These are two different players.

Besides, we don’t even know who will be the starter!
