Monday Afternoon Practice Report
Below are the reports for the evening practice session today.
PALM BEACH POST PRACTICE REPORT
Highlights include:
-Kendall Langford working with both first and second team at DE
-Matt Roth seeing action at OLB
-2 minute offense for all 3 QBs (1:15 on the clock from opponent's 48 yard line): Henne 4/7 with an INT; Beck 3/9, but should have had a TD to Jalen Parmele (it was a perfect pass but it was dropped); McCown 3/5 with a QB sneak up the middle for a TD
-11 on 11: Henne 1/3 with an INT (not his fault, as his arm was hit as he threw); Beck 4/6 with a bad INT to Torbor
SUN-SENTINEL PRACTICE REPORT
Highlights include:
-John Beck getting Omar Kelly's "gold star" for the day - he's making his push now. Besides looking good in 7-on-7s and 11-on-11s, he also threw a TD to Anthony Fasano during goalline work
-Will Allen continues to play well - even catching the ball for interceptions (now if he can just do that in a real game)
-Dan Carpenter and Jay Feely both hit 42 and 45 yard field goals

not really
if you read his post… he starts by noting that Henne played with and against the first teamers, while beck played with the 2nd against the 2nd and 3rd teamers for the ENTIRE practice…. matty omitted omar’s opinion that beck has trouble seeing over/behind/through the OL? Anyways, beck in typical fasion ruined a pretty good day by throwing a pick that would have been returned for a td at the end of it. Beck t/o leading to points…. seems like last year all over again.

In all fairness,
Omar said that int was not Beck’s fault. It was just a great play by Reggie Torbor who came out of nowhere with a leaping pick.
yes but
ben at the palm said it was “the easiest int of torbor’s career” meaning that it wasn’t such a good play on either side of the ball

i'm just saying
you commented on matty omitting part of Omar’s article and you did the same. The height issue was just something off the top of his head. The AVERAGE height for an NFL QB is 6’3” so 6’2” is probably not going to have a too difficult time seeing over the OL.
what does the height thing have to do
with anything???
omar, based on his experience, feels that beck has trouble seeing through the line… that’s his opinion. Beck could be 7 foot tall for all I care… but the question/issue was ‘wow omar is giving beck some props’ ... i pointed out 2 points…
one was matty omitted omar’s critique of beck’s vision issue and two that another observer plainly stated that the Beck INT was a terrible play (to which I added my own opinion that this is the type of play beck made all of last year)

I don't get it...
If Beck is an inch taller than Drew Brees, how come Drew doesn’t have the problem of being able to see over the offensive linemen? I think he rolls out to buy some time from the pressure and allow the receivers to get open. Omar’s “guessing” comment about throwing but not seeing where the receivers are is just plain bull shit! You can’t guess in the pros. And what? The other quarterbacks stand in the pocket and aren’t rolling out? Highly doubt that.
