Anthony Armstrong Waived

http://www.palmbeachpost.com/blogs/content/shared-blogs/palmbeach/miamidolphins/entries/2008/08/31/armstrongs_dream_ends_in_less.html

Wide receiver Anthony Armstrong, one of the feel-good stories of training camp, has been placed on waivers, said a source familiar with the situation.

Armstrong, a 25-year-old rookie who used to play in the Arena League, was one of six wide receivers to make the Dolphins’ 53-man roster on Saturday, joining Ted Ginn Jr., Derek Hagan, Ernest Wilford, Greg Camarillo and Davone Bess.

Armstrong’s happiness was short-lived as the team replaced him with one of the cast-offs from one of the other 31 teams.

If another team does not pick up Armstrong from waivers, the Dolphins then could add him to their eight-man practice squad.

Armstrong, who played at West Texas A&M, was one of the surprises of training camp, outlasting a three-year NFL veteran (David Kircus) and three fellow rookies (Selwyn Lymon, John Dunlap and Jayson Foster).

Blessed with some of the best speed on the team, the 5-foot-11, 175-pound Armstrong was the Dolphins’ best deep threat along with Ginn, the team’s first-round pick in 2007.

It won't be announced till Monday

I’d think, since waiver pickups don’t process till then. Any guesses on what position we’d be getting? My bet is on the OL somewhere

hmmm...

ok – processed monday – but all claims had to have been made/submitted by noon today (sunday)…. so the info should be out there….

hope armstrong makes it to the practice squad cause I think he’ll be a good one once he hits the roster for good.

the comments on that article suggest that the guy was impressing in camp and their fans are upset to see him go

I LIKE HIM ALREADY

“I’m beyond fired up,” London said. "(The Dolphins) asked me if I’d be ready to practice tomorrow. I was like, ’I’m ready right now. Soon as I get off the plane.’ ’’

Its Sunday afternoon.....do you know where your beer is?
