Honest Opinion Poll -- Week 1 Dolphins vs Jets

Ok Dol-Fans, its the game we have all been waiting for, looking forward to, obsessing about, etc.  But in a land of reality,  who thinks the Dolphins will come out smoking in week one and bring home a WIN against the J-E-T-S SUCK SUCK SUCK?

or

Who thinks that despite the improving signs of our beloved Dolphins, Brett Favre and the 'revamped' Jets will come in here as favorites and leave with the win?

Mark me down for optimism, belief, and no-so-blind faith.  As a dol-fan, how could it be any other way?  Dolphins 23 Jets 13

I'm with you

We’ll make Favre’s head spin like the new playbook he’s studying. Lol. I think they will be favorites but we’ll upset them 17-10. Last thing, what is Favre’s infamous record? Most interceptions.

I think more of a Bell night….
Then you could have the headline “Bell ends Favre’s debut”
(couldn’t think of a way of dropping the ’s, sorry)

I think our offense

is just too strong to not break 20 vs. a Jets D.

I believe

I see a ball control game by the Dolphins and a rattle-their-cage Defense. Favre, not as comfortable as he’s been in the last 17 years, throws a couple of timely picks as Miami goes on too a 20-13 win.

Miami Wins

I think our running game is going to be too good for the jets to handle. throw in the fact that the Jets will have almost no game film on us because we have new offensive and defensive coordinators, while we have lots of game film on them, and i think we will win. i think Pennington will be efficient and not make mistakes.

My one big area of concern is special teams, especially return coverages. if the Jets get big plays in the return game, they could win

Mr. Subtle

Like a fart in church Rzayo you kinda go against the grain, lol. I respect that. It wouldn’t have been so bad but you spelled out the Jets….and thats just not right! God I hate when they do that!

Honestly

I think it will be a great game. Pennington knows that defense and can beat it. Favre is an all time great but he is still learning. They are by far the better team but due to those two things, I think it will be close until the 4th.

Let this season BE GINN!

I'm just worried

About our ability to put up 20 points on anyone. Yeah the Jax game was good, but we still didn’t get there and it was only one good game. We still need to prove we know what to do in the end zone – that’s what separates the boys from the men in this league. I have a feeling Dan Carpenter will see a lot of action. And it’s hard to see Favre not getting at least 14 points… He can still play. I’m not so confident…

Ah f-ck it,
Phins 16 – 14 Jets (1TD+3FG against 2TD)

Football isn't a matter of life and death - it's far more important than that.

God damn it

I meant ‘red zone’ not ‘end zone’
Damn it sounds funny that way – like we’ve forgotten how to celebrate because we never score

lol

you handled that like a man with no money left at the blackjack table who was dealt “15”…..lol.

I think that

with Ricky and Ronnie on the field for 4 quarters, it will be hard to NOT score a couple TD’s a game.

its just science…lol.

F the jets(lower case j on purpose and NO respect)..they SUCK

I think our OL and DL has made some great progress in a very short period of time and by gametime I think they will be quite solid so I see CP with time to find a streaking Ginn and Armstrong(hes going to be awesome for us guys),not to mention dissecting their D with short to midrange passes and Ricky running like a mad man and our D all in Favres grill causing at least 2 picks and all that equals to the jets are SCREWED but the ST better get their shit together .

I like classy players, regardless of who they play for, so I always liked Curtis Martin and Chad Pennington BUT I cant stand the Org. OR their fans.

Miami 23 jets 9

IF they beat us its RIGGED! :)

People are way too optimistic...

We aren’t good by any means. I have hope for the future, but we’re coming off a 1-15 season for god sakes.

Jets 17, Dolphins 6.

by jfink24 on Aug 21, 2008 7:57 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

hopeful

not optomistic, I’d rather be wrong picking them too win than right picking them too lose.

by HuskerDolphin on Aug 21, 2008 9:41 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Once again...

Bringing up the 1-15. Remember the margin of loss for six of those games was a touchdown or less. We had the injury bug at crucial offensive and defensive positions. Cam Cam as coach. Don’t forget there was an offseason shakeup of the roster and much better coaches now.

I'll Bite

The D will fluster Favre as he adapts to the new playbook/players, Yeremiah will take a pick to the house early, and Ricky will go over 100 and score on a +40yd run. Pennington hits Ginn on a TD bomb after the Homeless Jets blow the coverage. Carpenter hits 2 FG’s from distance. Favre leads a late comeback, but fails, throwing his second pick of the day to Bell, and the Dolphins win 27-21.

Fxxk realism, I HATE THE STINKY JETS and were winning this game.
