MATTY'S WRONG

AND SO AM I

really thought beck would step up this year and claim the starting qb position but it looks like matty and myself are wrong on that.  dont know if it was cam buckling to the pressure and putting him in when he wasnt ready and ruining him or the new staff tinkering with his throwing motion but it seems as though has hasnt improved.  cant say he has regressed cuz its hard to get worse than last year.  i hope its just rust or jitters and he gets over it or its looks like henne my be the future(hopefully).   man we need a qb.  lol

It's always

“Back to the tape. Back to the tape”. Ya know, at some point “the tape” needs to translate onto “the field”.

Even though no QB has seperated himself, 2 of them aren’t rookies. That is telling you something.

Are you picking up what I'm putting down?

sparano was saying

(don’t remember where i read it, or which press conf, he said it in)

that it looks like things are slowing down for henne…. So to follow the point you are making, if the game is just starting to slow down for Henne and he’s already equal to Beck/McCown, then should the whole process be about getting Henne ready to take over the team? wether that is game 1 or game 10, it should be Henne’s team at some point this year. (btw: for all the Beck myopians around here…. that is so when Henne is leading the team Game 1 2009, the real game has slowed down for him)

Forget John Beck........

tell me again why i am supposed to be so high on him. He has never impressed me. He is a aww shucks guy like Joey Harrington….i hate that. give it to me str8…dont tell me about tape watching and “day at a time” crap.

Maybe its cuz i wasnt livin down here when we drafted him, but i was never impressed with him.

Henne played big time football at a big time school…..in big games. I dunno if he is the answer, but he is closer than Beck thats for sure

oh, and for the record, I'm not anti-Henne

I think he’ll be one of the top 2 QBs out of this past class. I just never liked Michigan so I’ll poke fun at them (and their choke) as often as possible.

Never liked the Big 10

I think its a cupcake conference where all you gotta do is win “MAYBE” 1 hard game and “MAYBE” 2 medicore games and you get a national title shot. Their cowardness is shown by not having a conference title game.

Why do you think Rich Rodriguez left his beloved WVU to jump ship to Michigan? Anyone believe that it was anything else but a “WAY” easier road to the National Title game? Please, beat Ohio State and stop them from getting blown out in another “BORING” title game and your in.

Wait, what?

You think the Big Ten is below the Big East?? Are you kidding me? Wasnt Temple in there until last year The Big East is awful. Just look at how much trouble the Canes have had since they left. You get two really tough games a year in the Big East and otherwise you can cruise.

The only reason it could be harder to get to the title game from the Big East is that its going to kill your SOS facing the bottom feeders of that conference.

You get 1 in the Big Ten.

hey hey hey

Jake Long was in that game too. It was all defensive problems in that game. That and the worst fg blocking i have ever seen on that last kick.

Phatty is guilty

Of wanting Beck to rise from the ashes. I felt that he was really a good QB and Cam was a terrible coach. I am starting to feel that I was wrong. I think we are going to have McCown and Henne fighting for the start and Beck looking for a greyhound bus. I just want a solid starter. This vacuum left by Marino is ridiculous. I hope that McCown can be a fair starter like Ferrotte was in 05 and that we can find a franchise QB while McCown keeps us afloat.

just so lil upside....

i hope im wrong and Beck has a great preseason…but he just doesnt do anything great. He has the mental approach but this isnt chess. Hope to see Henne start game#1 and leave him there. If he sucks well know now.

i'd much rather

give the ball to henne for all 16 games and see if he can become somehting, then live through beck/mccown stinking it up for the first eight games, while we all wonder when Henne is going to get his chance.

so i’m with you.

Presence

QB’s need to command a presence. You see it with Marino, Peyton, and Brady. Beck doesn’t have it. I think Henne does. Big Ben has it too who won a lot his rookie season. Start Henne.

Don't we have another quarterback on the team...

who did beat Appalachian State last year?
Oh yeah, Jayson Foster the Walter Payton award winner.

He wouldn’t be able to see over the OL.

So sad

One week into TC and already throwing the baby out with the bath water. We don’t have two rookies? Well I wouldn’t go so far as to say John Beck has a whole lot of experence; I want to see them play with my own eyes not the Bloggers who at best dislike Mr. Beck and at worse hate him. Saturday night will tell us more but the thing that worries me more is the fact that some here are ready to jump on the Henne bandwagon (Just like they were last year with John Beck). Give it time fellers, Rome wasn’t built in a day, ya know.

I’m glad someone brought up Big Ben, you know that first year he only averaged 16.5 throws a game and his second year it was all the way up to 18. Sounds like the Steelers used the ground game so as Ben wouldn’t have to do to much to me; cause he shore didn’t set the world on fire with his great arm now did he.?

The bloggers did not make up his play of last year, and they are making up the numbers he putting up in camp this year.

Listen guys...

Beck needs to sit for a few years…he isnt that franchise guy right now. he is smart…so i think down the road he will get a shot when a guy gets hurt and maybe then is when he jumps in to the #1 spot…maybe not here though. He is solid as the 2nd guy learning..but we dont have a #1 so thats no good. forget Beck..its gonna be awhile till he shines
