"No chance" Dolphins trade Ronnie
Can we now end this ridiculous talk?
Tony Sparano addressed these completely asinine rumors by saying this:
"No chance that we’re trading Ronnie. I understand another rumor is flying out there. Last week, it was Beck. This week it’s Ronnie."
“There was no discussion of that internally or externally. None.”
So let's just end this talk and move on. Because, seriously, anyone who thinks Ronnie Brown could be or should be traded must be out of their mind.
Don't forget to get involved with our first round of community projections. We've begun with Channing Crowder and Joey Porter.

thanks for the update
Finally we can put this crap behind us.
Dont you think BP / Sparano saw what happened last year when you underestimate Ronnie like Cam Cameron did?
Ronnie is a BEAST and I can’t wait until he starts lighting it up and handling he vast majority of the carries in the regular season.

He's not going to get the vast majority.
He’ll get a small majority at best.

you'll see....
the longer the season goes the more he will separate himself from ricky.

that is not what has happened in the past
Ricky gets better and better as the season wears on.

Chris Mortensen
Where did he get this ‘tip’ from? I hate it when people like him start rumors. It’s very unprofessional

Mort
has the ear of lots of GMs and front-office staffers in the league, and is very respected- so i wouldn’t go dragging his name through the mud on this one. he probably heard something, heresay or not- maybe his name cam up in a phonecall to parcells or something -and since the subject has been quashed.

Thank god
I honestly feel very nervous about the current regime’s lack of “attachement” to “not their guys,” so I’m glad it’s been debunked.

That was a sound "No"
But whats intresting is that he equated the Ronnie rumors with the Beck rumors
Why so serious?

Typical PIS
I think Parcels and/or Ireland threw at least some kind of hint regarding this to Mort and then told Sparano,IF they even told him, to shoot it down just so other teams will call and then they can do the old “HELL NO he aint going anywhere BUT IF he were..what would you give?” routine.
These guys are so funny to me and I love their approach…ALL about mind games and Sparano and Ireland have learned from the very best guys..get used to these types of “rumors”!
I can see it going down like this..Mort and BP are good friends and Mort has a sit down with with BP and says “So Bill, how do you like your team?” Mort asks.. and HERES where the gears in Parcels head start turning.. “Well Morty,we’ve had a lot of improvement talent wise and from a coaching standpoint and I like what we’ve got going here but were kinda stacked at the RB position right now, which is a good thing of course, but I love Ricky,he has that fire he had at Texas, the young guys are competing hard and Brown is a great back but a little fragile,DONT quote me on that Morty or I’ll stomp ur butt, and since his contract is a bit of a burden..well you just never know Morty(he just planted that seed in Mort’s head)..sorry Morty but I have to drop by the house for a minute but it was good talking to you as usual,Oh..Jeff said he would like you to drop in on him sometime if you had the time so why dont you go talk to him before you leave”.
BEFORE Mort gets out of his site, BP is already on the phone telling Ireland to NOT act surprised if Mort asks him about Ronnie Brown an d when asked Jeff simply says “Well..anything is possible Mort!” and THAT is mission accomplished IMO.
We will see.

You know, the more i think about it
the more the idea of a straight up Brown for Boldin trade grows on me.
Before I hear from the RB fan club again, I just want to say that I love Ronnie and think he could very well be a Pro Bowl back. However, when comparing the two positions, WR and RB, WR is definitely the most difficult to fill from a talent perspective. Teams are always picking up 1000+ yd rushers from deep into a draft, or off the street in FA.

SO true!
I like Ronnie a lot and consider him to be a great back and feel he could do well on any team but Denver’s “zone blocking scheme” produced paper tigers FOR YEARS and got some mediocre backs great pay days at their next stop so to me that proves you dont need a “great” back in order to have a great running attack.
As you alluded to,the WR position is ALL about the receiver himself because HE is the one getting open whereas the OL gets the RB open and he just runs towards daylight.
I have the back of ANY player for Miami and want the best for Brown BUT the success of the overall team is where my loyalty begins and ends and I think a great WR is more important than a great RB.
One thing you can bank on with PIS is that WE WILL have an awesome OL year in and year out because they know that thats where it all begins and most any RB will have great years behind a great OL.
