Joey Porter Cut?

Not yet!  But if this keeps up, I don't think the Trifecta would hesitate long before pulling the trigger.  You know how much they love injury prone guys!

http://www.palmbeachpost.com/blogs/content/shared-blogs/palmbeach/miamidolphins/entries/2008/08/19/porter_sitting_out_murphy_back.html

"Linebacker Joey Porter was on the sideline this morning, while his teammates went through individual drills during practice at the team’s indoor bubble.

Porter, who missed the Aug. 9 pre-season opener with a back injury and returned to practice last week, was wearing shoulder pads and had his helmet. But he rode an exercise bike and left the facility."

What is wrong with this guy now?  I might have to revise my anticipated stats for him.  Geesh!

we all know Parcells & Co.

aren’t gonna take crap.

It’ll be interesting to see how this all plays out. He could very well be gone.

Nice National Enquirer-style headline to grab my attention LCFF!!

The Jayfiss Report ...one fan's rants

I had to edit the headline.

Because some people could get really angry by misleading headlines…though it certainly helped grab my attention.

oh matty...

sometimes you are just no fun at all :) it is def an eye catching headline

lol

it was eye-catching. But I actually got two e-mails from readers angry about the “misleading” title. Some people….

there... that's reasonable, right?

because it was certainly not meant as a joke.

I am actually getting fed up with the guy. I wasn’t for the signing in the first place, when we could have had Adalius Thomas for the same price. And he hasn’t done anything but run his mouth since he’s been here.

IMO

Porter

He’s very expensive and hasn’t paid many didvidends. I know he says this is his year, but he’s a throwback to the last crappy regime and the triumverate hates those guys.

We're talkin' about PRACTICE....practice!

by hotrod43 on Aug 19, 2008 7:00 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

exactly!

if he thinks he is safe because of the money invested… think again.

These guys can easily cut him in a “bad decision by the former front office, let’s cut out losses now” kind of justification without looking bad. And I absolutely believe Parcells would do it if decided Porter was a slacker, and he thought he couldn’t trade him.

I just have a bad feeling about him being able to contribute this year. Anyone remember the David Boston drama?

the only problem with cutting

him is the big signing bonus he was given… it’s almost too difficult to cut him right now since all the remaining money would hit against the cap right now… So porter will be on the team THIS year, but next season it becomes significantly cheaper to axe him…. I never liked the signing then, (really what ex steelers lasted very long any place after Pitt let them go??), plus I though he was more mouth then actual production, so its easy for me to say
Hasta la vista baby….

agreed except that

these guys want to pay the waiver wire this year and that will use cap space and i have to think JP will be productive for at least some of the season and there is always time to axe him once the record dictates that its time to play the youths.

I agree.

And he hasn’t really run his mouth this year, except about Jay Feely and that asshole deserved it. I think Joey has been a bit humbled by last season and really is ready to work to make an impact this season. His injury prone old man body is a little worrisome, but hey, it’s football. Injuries happen.

Porter was over pay

everybody knows that. He has under perform, that is another fact. So the question is, Went he is going to be axe? I don’t think, money is a pro, but then again, BP don’t care that much about waiver or cap went it comes to axing
