Chad Henne Can Break A Pane Of Glass...

I though I'd share this with ya'll. This is absolutely great.

Taken from the Jaguars official site's live blog. Read it and enjoy.

8/16/08 at 8:41 PM Henne to Ginn. What a throw by Henne. Now they're calling it incomplete. We might get a challenge on this one.

8/16/08 at 8:42 PM Tony Sparano is challenging. He got em both down. It would be out of bounds at the Jaguars 25. It's all a matter of establishing possession, I think.

8/16/08 at 8:43 PM The ruling stands. Ginn didn't establish possession. He beat Mathis.

8/16/08 at 8:14 PM Pennington looks pretty good. He still can't break a pane of glass but he can nibble a little and hit the slant.

8/16/08 at 8:14 PM Witherspoon does it again. He's out to the 43. He's the star of this game for the Jaguars so far.

8/16/08 at 8:18 PM The Jags are going for it on fourth and two at midfield.

8/16/08 at 8:19 PM Garrard had Walker wide open deep and overthrew him. Miami takes over at its 49.

8/16/08 at 8:19 PM It was a very aggressive play-call by offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter and it should've been an easy touchdown throw. Hey, if you're gonna have a bad night, the preseason is the right time to have one.

8/16/08 at 8:20 PM Chad Henne has replaced Pennington, who was five of six for 55 yards.

8/16/08 at 8:22 PM Henne can break a pane of glass; a pane of plexiglass.

THEN LATER

8/16/08 at 8:41 PM Henne to Ginn. What a throw by Henne. Now they're calling it incomplete. We might get a challenge on this one.

8/16/08 at 8:42 PM Tony Sparano is challenging. He got em both down. It would be out of bounds at the Jaguars 25. It's all a matter of establishing possession, I think.

Great hearing it from the other guy for once (again - we did win once upon a time). Don't you think?

Did Anyone See That Play To Ginn?

I heard it on the radio. They made it sound like it was unbelievable.

I was curious as to how far and well thrown the ball was.

Anyone?

I saw it and I replayed it in slo-mo several times.

He had possession with his feet in bounds. It was easy to see if you start from where he has possession and run it backwards. Dumb refs.

The ball was perfect. Don’t recall the distance in the air, but I’d guess it was ~40yds.

Thanks

I’m getting goosebumps.

They’re much better than duckbumps, which typically result in hangovers.

Duckbumps...

is that what it’s called when Beck skips a slant pass into the WR’s shins?

sorry I had to

been reading non-stop Beck jokes here for a week figured I’d throw one in… BTW I think he’s the odd man out. McCown will stay because he’ll be the “semi-reliable” backup between Pennington and Henne. This way Henne won’t be thrown in when Pennington hurts his shoulder (again) or his knee (again), only when the staff feels he’s completely prepared. Pretty disappointing to see Beck sucking this TC and Preseason, that leaves us with what from last year’s draft? A Center, a KR, and a Punter? Nice.

Henne Will Be The Backup

McCown will be the scout team QB.

I think Henne even has a fair shot at starting.

Yeah

I really don’t see McCown playing over Henne.

Can you imagine if we had Anquan Boldin in the line-up. Check out my blog and let me know what you think: “Best WR for us to get?” . Chad Pennington is just here to get us on course, not be our franchise QB. He was brought here to show baby Chad the ropes. And hell he’s a fast learner. But giving either Chad a player ike Boldin only increases their chances of big plays and draws coverage off of Derek & Ted.
