Interesting comparison between Fins/Chiefs

I don't think I'm quite sipping the kool-aid yet, but it's still nice to think that we might be fixing this thing the right, finally.

Given everything that’s transpired over the offseason, you would think that the vibes emanating out of Kansas City and Miami these days would be similar. Both the Chiefs and the Dolphins took almost identical approaches to rebuilding their clubs, each deciding that an influx of young, fresh faces would be needed in the hopes of reversing their fortunes....

Yet despite all the similarities the teams share, they are hardly on equal footing when it comes to the future. In Miami, optimism has been restored, whereas in Kansas City, the outlook is bleaker than it has ever been.

Really like that article

Thanks.

Though what it really comes down to is a wager that one of our two young QBs is better than their young QB. I’d prefer Beck and Henne to Croyle, no doubt, but I’m far from convinced that we have our franchise QB. Until we do, both franchises will be in the bottom half of the league.

Still, even when the Dolphins are bad, I just love supporting them. There’s always something interesting going on in Miami, and if not, reminscing about 17-0 (not that I was alive) and Marino (watched him play in the flesh) never gets old. Never. The Chiefs are one of those bland teams that I think that if I supported them I’d probably want to kill myself. Even when the Chiefs got Montana noone paid them any attention. The fins are more like the 49ers or Cowboys. When we have a bad team, we’re a ‘sleeping giant’. When the Chiefs have a bad team, it’s just the way the world is supposed to be. I actually feel the same way about the Patriots as I do the Chiefs. It’s just taking a long time for them to get back where they belong!

I have to say that IMO...

a big part, if not the biggest reason, for optimism in miami is that we have a guy named Parcells running the show. Given his track record it isn’t a matter of if miami will be good, but just how soon.

Meanwhile, back in KC-ville, you have Herm Edwards still running things. The guy who constantly makes gametime mistakes in addition to gems like giving your best player (LJ) about 400+ carries. Then the management team hasn’t exactly impressed with their handling of the QB situation the last few years.

As for Croyle I’m no more (or less) sold on him than I am of any of our guys. The difference is he was in for quite a few games last season and they do have some legitimate weapons on that team – LJ, Gonzalez, and some nice play at WR from Bowe. Granted the OL isn’t very good.

Anyway, aside from being a fins fan, if I had to bet on what team rebuilt successfully between these two, I’d pick Miami.

Just to tag onto your post...

I also like the fact that the rookie head coach has one prime directive…coach football players. I don’t know about you, but every time I watch his post-practice press conferences I see a real football man committed to his job.

Unlike

the Mr. Rogers approach last season of one Cam-Cam, it is a nice change.

Of course thats true

Just look at are coaching staff that we were blessed with this team would be turned around in a year or two…..The secret is getting people that wanna play football And have good depth and be able to rotate your players and always keep them fresh out there….The mose important thing is have a solid d-line and o-line…..You can have a average secondary,But if your line dont let the qb trow or they can run eitha you wont have to be that great to cover…Look at the giants…...Same with the o-line if there always giving you big holes i dont care what running back you are your gonna be making yards…But you need a great qb1,You need a recivers that can get open and give you targets out there2,Then on the secondary and linebacking core you need atleast a playmaker on each to get the team squad pumped, play better,,,Look at the colts on there secondary they got a big safty that controls there secondary…...............
