A 2 year commitment needed by Taylor for possible trade
Apparently the Packers could very well be interested in Taylor, and could possibly be considering giving up a 2nd round pick if Taylor gave GM Ted Thompson a 2 year commitment rather than retiring after the '08 season.

Thats great
If we can get a secound rounder for jason taylor,Then we wont have to deal with his crap anymmore and we get alot in return also.Lets round up as many draft picks as we can to gey this team young and fresh.I belive next year What we should mainly consider is just looking at the defensive back postion with all of are picks that we get…...................... And i also say if ronnie brown doesnt do good next year or if he gets heart again trade hes ass cuz hell only have one year left in his contract.Next year would be his 3rd year to prove himself.Every year it seems like he always has a reason not to make it to the pro bowl. With all that money hes getting,he better do somethan this year….

If RB
can stay healthy i have no doubts he will be one of the best players on the field everytime he steps on it. with RW splitting carries with him he should be able to stay healthy as well. i really hope this goes through, i dont mind rooting for the Packers which would help.

hmmm
if JT goes to the Packers that might push Favre to un-retire and play again, which i think makes the pack the favorites along with the cowboys in the NFC. that means that 2nd round pick is likely to be in the low 60s. not the same and a pick in the 40s.
still, I echo DolfinPhan in that I like or hate every team in the NFL and the Pack is one that I like, so i could be able to cheer for them with JT.
how about cowboys vs. packers in NFC championship game. JT vs. Zach for a trip to the SuperBowl! that would be a site to see.

Wow
Honestly, after the obvious Cowboys, if Taylor had to go, I would probably have picked the Packers. However, I thought we were already done with the JT saga and already became completely satisfied with JT staying. Now I feel like I have been kicked in the gut again. Yes, I have come to realize that it definately would be for the best of the team long term but the nostolgia (can you name anyone who was on the team 5 years ago) and love for JT really is killing me.
Let this season BE GINN!

I think this is where we find out JT's true intentions
Does he really want to commit to winning a championship, or is he already Hollywood-bound? I think if he decides not to make the 2 year committment, his mind is already in after-football mode. This is probably his only chance to go to a contender, considering Miami’s asking price and GB’s success last season, so if he truly wants that ring, he should make the 2 year committment. If he is still in “one more year” mode, I think he might as well retire now and capitalize on his popularity before it fades.

Jason Taylor will...
...stay with the Dolphins for one more year…mentor our new guys and pick up…oh about 10 sacks on his way to retirement. I think he will “stay” in the Miami community where all his organizations and foundations are, the same way Shaq “stayed” in Orlando but went career seeking in L.A. I think JT’s over it. He will still be ultra-competitive and fierce as always but over it none the less.

Get it done
Even Mort is saying “This one is worth watching.” And he isn’t one for sensationalizing.
If Jason Taylor wants a chance to win, this is it. All he’s got to do is play out his current contract. Then he can go off and take Hollywood by storm.
If two years = 2nd Rounder—please get this done. Do right by the Fins, JT.

It really will be interesting
and as Nicky explained above, give us insight into JT’s plans.
I wouldn’t blame him for wanting to quit football now. After all, many people would rather make $5M/year in front of a camera making movies or being on tv shows, than getting pounded on for 16 regular season games/4 preseason games/countless practices/minicamps/etc. I know I would…
The condition many players get in after their playing days are over is pretty bad from what I’ve seen.
If he goes then you have to figure Hollywood can wait, a little
