Sparano: Taylor not attending training camp

Taken from the erroneous  Armando Salguero's Blog, quote from Head Coach Sparano:

I'm going to tell you what I know about Jason Taylor and that's all I'm going to say about this," Sparano said. "I know Jason Taylor will not be attending any OTAs. I know he will not be at any of our minicamps. And I know he will not be at training camp

Taylor, through his agent, has requested a trade. And the agent, Gary Wichard, told the Dolphins that Taylor will not report for training camp unless he is traded.

Taylor's thinking is simple: He wants to play for a winner and he doesn't think the Dolphins are that team. The Dolphins, Taylor believes, are in a rebuilding mode and that doesn't fit his agenda, which at 33 years old, is to win a championship.

Interesting, his blog can be found here:

Not surprised at this whatsoever, let the fiasco escalate even further , oh boy

Wow

I won’t lie. This is shocking to me.

The risk he is taking from a career perspective is amazing. Demanding a trade and failing to reach the Super Bowl or major statistical improvement would essentially end his bid for HOF consideration, which in turn could hurt his post NFL career.

I am a little saddened by this.

I don’t think that the Dolphins can get anything for him now. There will be a pissing match.

As long as ownership doesn’t get involved then Parcells will win and Taylor will play for the Dolphins.

Unless Jacksonville drafted Quentin Groves just for this moment. Groves makes little to no sense in their defense.

of course

we are all saddened by it… we expected JT to be honorable, we expect JT would know that by acting in a respectable manner, a trade would be much more likely (miami needs to get value to justify trading him and everytime he says i’ll play 2 years or I want to be the next Boz he makes a trade that much more difficult) and we expect JT to take a leadership role and help develop the team, and when we learn that this is not how JT really is right now, we become sadden to hear that he is just another selfish me first guy.

BP will not take

less than a number 1 or 2 for Taylor which means Taylor will sit out the summer and join the team in September and play for his 17 million without going to training camp. Now that we have finially heard what we all knew, coming from JT camp, how do you feel about him now? Do you still want him playing for our team? Oh yea that was very distrubing watching JT dance with Regis this morning. I caught this while at the gym this morning, but I will say the reports are correct ….his dance partner is a winner. Oh yea and I hope the other dude won. lol (I could care less)

really

what makes you say he won’t sit out the first half of the season and then report just before the team can go after his signing bonus.
JT is being pretty selfish here….

It's official!

I think we should now all be in the F*#K Jason Taylor camp. A lot of people have given him a free pass so far, myself included, but this is too much. I believe that the Phins have been very fair to this guy and don’t owe him a thing. He is UNDER CONTRACT. A contract that compensates him very well. Either be a man and abide by the agreement HE made or screw him. I don’t believe we can get anything “worth while” for him in trade any longer so let him sit out. Make a statement much like the Bengals are making with OchoStinko. Either be a man and play for us or go pout in Hollywood and cost yourself millions. Your choice. Screw you. I am fairly certain this is the approach Parcells will take and rightfully so.

Note to JT: You are losing the respect of a lot of loyal fans very quickly. Fans that may hold a grudge and not pay to follow your homo-erotic acting career if you don’t do the right thing. You should have learned a long time ago that AS A MAN YOU ARE ONLY AS GOOD AS YOUR WORD. Enough said.

I feel better now. Anybody else want to fry this guy?

so what if he's under contract

If Contracts in the NFL were guaranteed I would agree with you here, but they are not. Look the Dolphins cut Zach Thomas and the Dolphins were UNDER CONTRACT with him! Did Zach have any recourse? No, cause they are not guaranteed contracts. As long as the teams can terminate the player’s contracts any time they want, I dont have a player holding out or demanding a trade.

Agree but only partially.

The difference is that Zach was unable to perform or even get on the field and I believe he was cut for that reason. You can make Zach work in any scheme so I don’t buy that he just didn’t fit. He just simply isn’t healthy and the front office did not believe that he would ever the same. The Dolphins didn’t just decide to act like overgrown bitches and change their minds about him. I’m sure they would’ve loved to keep him if he was capable of playing at a high level still. If these players don’t set up a private disability program, or heaven forbid, save/invest the millions of dollars they are making then shame on them. I have as much of a mancrush on Zach as anybody but he probably will not ever be the same on the field and that’s a shame. For his sake I hope the Phins are wrong about his health. What example is going to be set here if they give in to JT? So using your logic it’s ok for a rookie to go out and play well for a year and hold out and demand a trade the next year because his contract isn’t guaranteed? If that’s what this league is going to come to then screw them all. I’ll take up a new passion for Golf or something. I have rooted for and respected JT from day one. He has proven that he is a great player but he is absolutey acting like a bitch right now. I don’t care if they refuse to trade or cut him and force him to retire at this point.

JT not understood

Does anyone realize Dolphins turned their back on him first! I don’t blame him at all he was side swiped by the “We don’t need you anymore”. People have life messed up if you play for a team who really doesn’t try to win with off season trades etc…. Then you have a right to speak up and demand a trade. I play minor football in a amateur league and if a coach is make decisions that don’t make any since and is plain wrong I go to him or management because you play on a team and everyone as a voice some stronger than others. Everybody wants to win and should be given a chance and the Dolphins have let their fans and their players down for years. They never even deserve to have Marino. Chad Johnson is right to ask for a trade, and So is JT.

just trade the little...

shit tart (couldnt think of anything else to say)

Yea he is amazing but if hes gonna care about Regis more than football we don’t want that. I kno it would be my hearts wish to have him back (since losing Zach Attack has been traumatic enough) . But if we can get a playmaker out of him then i say go for it…here are my suggestions (realistic or not…i really dont care)

Andre Johnson (contract/wants out) —> JT and a 2nd
Chad Johnson (he wants out) --> JT and 2/3rd
Anquan Boldin (contract i think) —> JT and 2/3rd
Kellen Winslow (contract i think) --> JT and a 2nd
Lito Sheppard (they are rumored to be shoppin him) -> JT and a 3/4th
Quentin Groves (doesnt fit Jags and they drafted 2 De’s) --> JT or JT and a 6/7th
Roy Williams (contract and trade rumors) —> JT and a 2nd and a tootsie roll
Brian Urlacher (contract dispute) --> JT and a 2nd and 4th
Peyton Manning (a guy can dream) -> JT and next three years 1st’s …LOLOLOLOOLOL
