Dolphins sign 3 rookies
As "JMFlyer" points out in this diary, the Dolphins today signed 3 more rookies, bringing their total of signed draft picks to 4.
The 3 they signed today are RBs Jalen Parmele and Lex Hilliard, and DE Lionel Dotson. Parmele and Hilliard were 6th round picks, while Dotson was a 7th rounder. The terms of the contracts weren't disclosed, but it's likely they each signed 3 year deals. As soon as I hear or read any figures, I'll pass them along.
The Dolphins now have 4 draft picks signed while no other team in the NFL has even signed one. Kudos to this front office forworking quickly.
The Dolphins also added an undrafted free agent, center Matt Spanos. Spanos is out of USC and started 9 games for the Trojans last season.

Good news
Get them signed and get them in camp. Hopefully we will see a well oiled machine by August.

Bit of a surprise....
No one else has signed any of their picks? Aren’t the owners supposed to be voting on whether to void the labor contract? If so, what effect, if any, might that be having on contract talks? Or am I misremembering things in that I thought that signings happened a lot quicker than this, with at least several, if not most, of at least the first rounders already signed 2-3 weeks after the draft most years?
Not that it would bother me in the least if all the Patsy, Jests, and Jills rookies decided to hold out…. :-D

Spanos....
Nice, quiet, pickup. A lot of talent as a starting center for USC – part of his problem was his versatility and the fact that he was used at different positions his first 3 years before playing JUST center last year. (And he was USC’s co-offensive lineman of the year last year)
While I don’t see him stepping in and replacing Satele, this is a nice depth pickup along with McKinney… Surprised he didn’t get drafted.
Now, if we add some more depth at the receiver spot.
Definition of Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results...
