Will Allen in trouble with the law
Both the Palm Beach Post and the Sun-Sentinel are reporting that Will Allen may have been involved in a money dispute that might have resulted in Allen pulling a gun on somebody in the parking lot of a Bed, Bath & Beyond. The investigation by the Davie Police Department is still ongoing and no charges have been filed.
The premise of this report is that there was a dispute over money in the parking lot. A report on local TV says that Allen had to borrow money to pay gambling debts. Then when the lender demanded repayment, Allen pulled a gun on him.
Allen could potentially face discipline from the league if he's found guilty on any kind of gun charges. But it's important to note that nothing has been confirmed by the police. In fact, Lt. William Coyne says that there are varying stories on the incident:
"There was a dispute over money between Will Allen and another gentleman. Both parties came to the police station and made a report."
"We have two different stories about what happened. We're looking into the allegations to see who's telling the truth."
Will Allen only had this to say:
"I'm not even speaking on this. There isn't even a story to speak on, to be honest with you."
Hopefully Allen is right. But you have to wonder what kind of gambling debt Allen has incurred if he indeed had to borrow money to pay it off. And you also have to wonder what exactly he's betting on? Is he playing typical casino games or is he betting on sports?
This story could get ugly quickly, so let's hope for the best.

I think allen is right
Why would he pull a gun on someone then go to the police? Why would you go to the police to collect a illegal gambling debt? I like the fact that both parties agreed to go to the police to resolve conflict. I will reserve judgement until more info is available. From what I read I agree with allen. “I’m not even speaking on this. There isn’t even a story to speak on, to be honest with you.”

What I want to know is why he...
...pulled a gun on his “friend” just for picking out the wrong shower curtain for their master bathroom??!!

Because...
...shower curtains can make or break the aura of a master bath!

As some of you have alluded to...
i think not passing judgment on the situation, given we don’t have all the facts, is my view of it too.
We should know soon and then comment accordingly.
What I do know however is that if Allen were out for any length of time, then I suspect that the staff’s decision to not draft a single CB is going to get magnified quite a bit.

true
but you can’t blame the staff because they had no way of knowing that Allen was a gambling man who has to deal with loan sharks.

Not too worried about that...
Miami gets first dibs on any players that get shaken loose by other teams, so if worst comes to worst, it shouldn’t be too difficult for them to find a stopgap. Obviously not the ideal solution, but given the present state of the team, one that should be workable. If it ends up having any effect at all, it’ll probably be more on next year’s draft priorities and/or targeted free agents than this year’s given the emphasis they clearly placed on rebuilding the OL and DL.
And “thanks” to whoever came up with the thread title, I now have the “Dukes of Hazards” theme running around in my head.
