It'll be strange to see him in another uniform this coming season but that's the league nowadays. He'll go continue his legacy in Dallas, and I'll go and continue my legacy in…oh, I'm not talking about that right now.

Wow...
I feel like vomiting on how upset I got reading that quote. I really thought it was a mean joke but that is just too much. It seems that he really is going to return. :(

I found nothing maddening whatsoever...
about JT’s article. He’s working hard on making a life for himself after football. That’s something I think we ought to be encouraging considering how sooooo many former players end up in dire straits indeed. So many of these guys know nothing other than football but as all of us realize, you can’t play football forever. In fact,, the average NFL career is < 5 years. What about the next 50 years after football, what then?
I think JT knows the NFL is a business. His best friend is Zach so don’t believe for a second that he’s forgotten what happened with him.
I hope he wins the contest and keeps exploring his possibilities outside of football.
I’m a dolphin fan and a JT fan – he’s a good guy who has done a lot for this franchise and he deserves success – if not with the fins, maybe on TV or the big screen.

you are right, but the thing is this!! why we need to wait for his decision by the end of the month or in June? don’t you think that is a little bit selffish on his part?, he should said what is in hisa mind, so tha we can move on!! Look at this site!! Nobody know what he meant by doing his legacy somewhere else, but it is obvious, is NOT GOING to be HERE!! That is wrong, if he want to go, so be it. No harm no fault, but not telling, that is boloni or whatever is call, wait i know!! That IS BS big time

Yeah
I been going crazy hoping websites and so many people are unphased by this. I just don’t get how you can be. He pretty much says that he isn’t continuing the Dolphins. I keep rereading and don’t see anything otherwise. He implies this by saying is going to Dallas this season and that he will be somewhere else that is a mystery.

*If you are a Dolphin Fan - Read This * SOUR GRAPES!!!
You guys are so shady!! I can’t believe all the fair weather fans that have come out of the woodwork this year. At a time when we have two super rich dudes who love the our team paying out the wazoo to win, when we have Bill Parcells not just coaching but running football operations, when we have a bunch of big, young, hungry football players and a giant #1 pick at what some believe is the most pivotal position in the game, when we almost lost our Undefeated Legacy and almost went defeat-less but we have our franchise face on National TV wearing our team colors – and winning – on one of the most popular stages on television today…and all you guys want to do is whine!! Whether it’s Parcells or Beck or the draft or Taylor – either you’re on board or your not. You people suck as fans. Jason Taylor has been training like nobody’s business. You think Parcells camp is tough? Try professional dance training! That is no joke! Ever see a fat dancer? And stamina?! Taylor is an elite football player not only at his position but as an all around athlete. Watch – he will come into camp with his “fancy footwork” and run all over the young guys we have grunting and groaning in the gym right now. Bet me! At the end of the year when we’ve gotten mad publicity for having the Legend Bill Parcells and Jason Taylor (Dancing Star/Man of the Year/Defensive Player of the Year/Perennial Pro Bowler) on our team and JT is kickin’ butt and taken names, all of you…yes, all of you will be saying, “wow, I’m so glad we didn’t get rid of Jason Taylor he is a great player.” And then who will be the sissy? Watch out when you spit in the wind…it might fly back and hit you in the face. Go Phins!!! Go JT!!!

I agree with you here that it could be a consideration.
I’ll tell you this (get ready, naive personal experience in 1, 2, 3):
I’m a pretty active weight lifter. I also weigh about 245 lbs.
When I go heavy on the cardio and loose all that water weight I can drop 20 lbs (or more) and my lifts go down the tubes.
I have a shell of my former strength from a weight lifting standpoint. I can run better though, and can jump higher and stuff like that. I feel more fit when I’m light. I just can’t bench and squat as much.
This is natural and relates to caloric intake and usage.
Once the excess cardio is gone from my habits it takes me about three weeks to get back up to size. It’s all water.
I don’t compete or anything; I just drop the weight when I notice the beer catching up to me (PA is a hard place to avoid good beer). :D
Basically: I don’t think that weight will be an issue for JT.
Okay, naive personal experience is over. You can all roll your eyes now.

Look
Most people want to see JT committed and playing for the Dolphins this season. I’ve been defending him for weeks here because I felt he was still committed to the organization, but read the quote. I’m starting to change my mind on him because it seems like he’s gone hollywood. When he won’t even mention Miami as where he will continue his legacy… cmon. WTF does “oh I’m not talking about that right now.” say for him? Trust me, if he shows up and is an animal on the field and a leader in the locker room like I expect, I will be ecstatic. But he wants to continue his legacy in.. oh, I’m not talking about that right now.

Hey hwyatt3 ..
didn’t you read between the lines? JT said he will continueing his legacy, someplace else, in the big screen. What are you talking about? he is NOT coming back. After the golf tournament, he will retire from football and go make a film with FOX. I’m not whinning, you wouust!!

First if all...
Aleta, he didn’t say “anything” in particular. He simply eluded to the fact the he was making positive strides towards his post football career. BTW you can use a feature with your computer they call “spell check”, when used properly it allows you to appear less illiterate that you really are. Hey Matty…when we changed over to the new site I changed from my former user name – MisterX. I hear what your saying about JT’s weight but honestly I’m not worried about it. I mean the guy is a physical specimen. What he might lack in power being lighter he will gain in quickness and don’t think he won’t bulk up as the season progresses. He is finally going to be playing in a defensive system, “if” they run the 34 – wink wink nod nod, that fits his style of play and takes advantage of his speed and size. A faster, leaner Taylor with better footwork and stamina…if I’m Mr. Brady, I’m kinda scared right now.

maybe you need to run your own spellcheck too
In the same sentence that you said that you used the word that instead of than. Additionally, a comma should not be used as a period.
Aside from that JT didn’t say anything in that quote other than he’s planning on continuing his legacy somewhere. He’s being smart about it all because if he does get traded he’ll probably want a contract negotiation.

who cares about aleta's spelling
This is just a blog not school.
And if it was school, you would definitely get some points off for vocab saying he ELUDED instead of ALLUDED. I’m guessing you were trying to say Taylor referenced the fact that he was making positive strides and not that he cleverly escaped the fact that he was making positive strides.
You shouldn’t be making fun of someone’s spelling on a blog anyway, but it’s pretty hilarious you did right after showing everyone that you’re obviously not the sharpest tool in the shed. OWNED!!! hahahaha

Wow
Are you guys for real? JT is a great player and will continue to be if he returns to football.
He has played over a decade of football and at some points singlehandedly kept the Dolphins from sinking deeper into the mire.
In that same article Taylor referred to three Hall Of Fame players when talking about Emmit Smith, Dan Marino and Zach Thomas. How cool is that? He’s stumping for his brother, who could very easily get overlooked for HOF consideration.
AND FYI, The Phins would have gone completely defeated last year if it wasn’t for JT’s big game against Baltimore, blocked field goal and all.
Some games, especially late in the year, it seemed Taylor and Joey Porter were the only two trying to not go defeated. Everyone else was walking around in a daze.
I won’t talk about what the Dolphins 3-4 will look like without a pass rush. So here’s to hoping he’s back.
You all should wear your #99 jersey with pride.

Agree with you Phinisher...
wear it with pride, no questions, no ifs or buts about it.
JT is going to have a life, a good one at that, after football unlike those guys who end up in jail or addicted to drugs, etc.
If he chooses to start his post-football life sooner than later, then so be it. Good for him and his detractors can, well, get over it.
He’s given 10+ years to this organization, if he goes, then he gets my best!

Yep yep.... as much as this whole drama annoys me
I tend to agree with you Nat. I wish JT were attending OTAs and not dancing, and I would prefer all of the talk about him retiring to go away, but I don’t hold it against JT after the many “business” moves we have seen NFL teams make over the years. Loyalty is not a quality that is rewarded in the NFL… it is a detriment to the player, since it is never reciprocated by the team. JT has done his job in a professional manner for the entire time he has played, and that is all you should really expect out of a player.
However, I don’t buy into the spin that consistently see written about how he is in better shape than if he were attending Bill Ps program. We saw how long last year it took for him to round into “football shape” and the lack of strength training will come out when the season starts, if he doesn’t work awfully hard to bulk back up.
But, hey, if the contract says “voluntary” then you can’t make the offseason program mandatory with a wink and a nod. JT is within is rights to skip it, just as BP is within his rights to trade or cut Taylor if he doesn’t like it. Right? :)

The fact is...
We all just feel bad because JT might be leaving the team and we are huge fans. What would you do if you were him? It’s hard to say…
As Nat said, an NFL career is short, and then you have the rest of your life to live. The Phins aren’t winning any Superbowls in the next couple years, and we KNOW he has entertainment biz people in his ear bigtime right now – probably tons of people in L.A. kissing his ass. It’s gonna be a tough call for him, parlay the dance thing now into a movie, or spend another year or two in the NFL and then go for it?
Personally, I don’t see him being another Rock, I see him as the buddy in a cop movie or something…

Go to the Dolphins oficial site and see the CODE video. Obviously you haven’t see it, nor JT.
He should stop playing around and be a man, or a dancing fag and made an statement. either ,if he is gonna retire or if he want to be traded or whatever he wants. But let in us to be play like this is not fair for the Org nor US the FANS!!

I apologize for getting personal. You should be commended on being able to speak more than one language. However, I get so peeved when young kids get on these blogs and start using foul language and putting down the players that have made the Dolphins who they are. Since the days of Shula, we Dolphin fans we have always prided ourselves on being a first class organization with classy individuals on our team, like Jason Taylor.
