Around SBN: Steve McNair Dead - Former NFL QB Shot and Killed

Video Time: Ricky Williams

It's Saturday, so let's get to a couple of videos.

Today I thought we'd watch a little of Ricky Williams back in his prime.  Both of these clips are from the week 13 game in Buffalo back in 2002.  Notice that great burst through the line and then the finishing speed to break away from everybody.  What a combination of power and speed this guy once had.

The first video is below.  The second is after the jump.

Star-divide

So that's if for now. Barring any breaking news, I'll see you back here on Sunday night/Monday morning. Have a good weekend, all!

Phatty is crushed

When I watch Ricky highlights i get depressed. I really feel that we were on the verge of great things with that guy. I do not think that it is a coincidence that our last winning season was when we had Ricky active from training camp. Saban knew it, and kept the guy at his fingertips, and so will BP. I believe that with a few solid seasons, Ricky could still reach 10,000 Yards. I think it would be cool to see him finish the next 5 years on a positive. I guess I’d like him to finish THIS YEAR, that would be positive.

Ricky

More than all things is a good person. His flaws are trivial compared to his interests.

I would love to see him hang around a few years, reach the 10,000 mark and winning the first of the Dolphins’ Super Bowls in 2009.

Ah, last night’s beer has not worn off yet.

I don't know

about you guys, but watching my beloved Dolphins these last few years has required a steady supply of booze.

Now that I’m sober, I’ll revise my previous prediction and say that the Dolphins will only win the AFC East in 2009. 2010 will be the year of their Super Bowl.

:)

RW

was a complete BEAST this game. I remember it like yesterday.

Are you picking up what I'm putting down?

This is what I don't see Ronnie doing....

hitting the hole and running away from guys. Ronnie always seems to get dragged down from behind.
If Ronnie could run away from guys like that, he would be the total package.

7112

722 yards for 4 seasons= 10,000 yards. I believe it is possible. Run Ricky Run! I hope he can still be a beast.

i really miss that guy!!

i only wish he could get an entire season under his belt. he was fun to watch not only busting the big play, but his battering old school running style. i’ll be happy with one season, but i’d be ecstatic with 3 or 4 season.

I was at that game

He should have broken the single game rushing record, but the stupid D couldn’t stop the bills deep ball. Miami fell behind and eventually lost. For a while we were taunting Bills fans, but then we stopped running the ball…..If he can be half as good as he was I’ll be happy.

Fielder

This is going to sound a little crazy, but I think Jay Fiedler was really good for the Miami running game. What you also see in those clips is an athletic QB who could make the turn and execute the handoff very quickly. QB athleticism is one of the things that’s doomed the Dolphins’ running game for most of the last 20 years. (At least one of those QBs was a pretty decent passer.)
