Georgia Southern's Jayson Foster, who the Dolphins signed as an UDFA to compete at WR/KR. He's a very exciting player.

Exciting Prospect

Very exciting prospect.. I’m presuming he’ll be tried out as a wr though?

NIce can't

wait to see this kid on the field. He cuts at full speed, the first two defenders never get him. I’m loving this kid.

Wow!

I like this guy better than Ginn. Ginn doesn’t make guys miss like that.

I went back and watched the youTube highlights of Ginn, and counted one guy that he juked. He can kinda follow blockers, but he needs a crease and then he can use his straight ahead speed to run away from everyone.

But Foster…. wow! This kid reminds me of Barry Sanders. I was always a big Barry fan, even though I wasn’t a Lions fan, just because I loved to watch him play. He had great vision, could read the running lanes developing during a play, and was shifty enough to juke a guy or two to get into the open. This kid looks like he has that same vision and quickness. The big question is how will he look going against faster defenses? He is only listed as running 4.45 in the 40, which is fast, sure. But I imagine he looked a lot faster going against some of the Div I-AA opponents.

BTW, I don’t mean this to say that Ginn won’t be a good WR. I think he has a very good shot of being a deep threat if improves his route running a bit. I would also see him get a bit stronger, to beat the jam. But he can run past defenses, and seems to have pretty good hands. He just can’t make people miss, and usually goes down at first contact. I think Foster would be a better returner.

Foster's Speed

Jayson ran a 4.28 40 in the mini-camp with Parcells in attendance. We at Georgia Southern are crossing our fingers for him.

At least Miami has one QB that beat Appalachian State.
