Who made the decision to draft J. Long

I'm curious who you guys think in the Trifecta of Bill, Jeff and Tony played the biggest part in selecting Jake Long and why they selected him specifically.

There is a number of good O linemen in this draft, do you believe that they think he is that much better, or maybe they want to run the ball a lot more than in the past, or another reason....

Poll
Who played the biggest part in selecting Jake Long?
Jeff. He's the G.M., it's his job to make the final call on the draft.

Tony. He's an O-line coach and insisted on Jake.

Bill. Who else? He's the Big Tuna and always in charge.

All three agreed they wanted him.

well there are
a decent number of them, but the elite ones would be long gone before the phins draft at #32.

and the reality of the NFL right now is you *never* get a shot to grab an elite LT. they don't become FA and they get drafted high...

That's one of the reasons, the other is its the safest pick on the board, LT who flame usually become pretty good RT or guards, whereas pass rushers sort of disappear.... gaines adams anyone?

Maybe they...

agreed, maybe they didn’t but you can be sure of one thing above all else….BP had to be aboard with wanting Jake or else the pick would not have been made. That much, I think I can say for sure.

As for tackles, they like this kid and given the record of success that Parcell’s has had, I think we should have faith in his judgement.
