Moving Right Along...

#32 pick. I'd like to take a corner here, maybe, Cason, Porter, or if another one falls so be it. I'm wondering if maybe we trade back into round 1 and take Groves? Maybe a QB or TE? ILB for the 3-4?

Again I'd love to see Cason there but I'm hearing he's the #1 corner on the Cowboys board .................................................................................................... .................................................................................................... .................................................................................................... ............

I think
it is too early for Cason or Porter.  Aqib Talib may be available.  Jerod Mayo would look good next to Crowder.  James Hardy or Malcolm Kelly could upgarde our WRs.  Quentin Groves could be there as well.  Personally, depending on availability, I'd go with Mayo, Talib, Groves in that order.  Definitely need D help now.  Porter wouldn't be a bad choice at 57 but 32 is too early for him.

I think
it depends on which QB is available.  If the Phins are as sold on Henne as they are leading on (possibly an illusion, they may not care about Henne) or maybe Brohm, then it depends on if they are still there.  If not then I think they'll certainly take a corner or a linebacker.

I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't
get a QB in the draft. I would think they would try to sign a college FA from some small school in a lower division who may not get drafted and sign him. Just like they did with Tony Romo. Sit him for 3-4 years and give Beck a real chance to be the man. Hell it just got easier when you can move the chains on the ground. I hope Beck is practicing his Play action.....That's gonna be a killer.

Daren, Jay, others...
This is going to be a very interesting selection. If the Fins intend to get one of, say, the top 3-4 QB prospects, then this will be the spot (maybe at 57 also) to do so.

The 32 selection is a good spot for a top 5 QB, a top 5 corner, possibly a guard, etc. I think whether they pick a QB or not definitely changes the dynamics of the draft.

yep. but at this point, i am hoping they don't
take a QB that high.

I would like to see them take BPA at CB with #32, unless it is a reach.  Then WR and G with their second #2 and #3 (in either order).  Then maybe a QB... no earlier.

Not that I think QB isn't important, but they have a lot of holes to fill, and reasonably next year's FA and draft to use to fill them.  I would fill in the other holes with the higher picks this year, and use my #1 or #2 next year on a QB if needed.  just my preference... I think that gets us to a competitive team faster.

I want Defense
The next three picks CB and two Lbers. In any order take the highest rated player in those positions. Then move to TE and then back up OL and DL to round out the draft. Unless someone slips down and we can move up and get him. I heard Ireland talked about moving back into the first round for someone. I wonder who that might be?

Groves
But I think we'd have to get up before San Fran.

It just hit me
They want Derrick Harvey....there are some mock drafts having him go to the Lions at 16. If they decide to go with a RB he may get to 22 where we could trade with the cowboys for cheap and pick up Harvey. Give the cowboys a break later on when they need to move up. That would be a great to move Harvey to OLB in the 3-4.

What we should do with the 2nd
I believe that we should realy think about trading jason taylor already if he dont wanna be on are team anymore. With are 32 pick i say go with anybody that was suppose to be a 1 pick and dropped like a safty like kenny phillips or don conner to play inside with channing crowder for us.

Why is everyone..
Wanting to draft another rookie QB in the second round?  We already have one kind of in John Beck.  If you consider this his real rookie season, then why not wait until the second day or even an UFA from a smaller school.  WE NEED MORE DEFENSE!!!!!  Our defense NEEDS to get younger, faster, and stronger so they can get off the f#&king field on third downs.

Enough with this QB talk.  Draft defense, guard, and receiver.

And with the first pick in the 2008 NFL Draft...The Miami Dolphins select...Glenn Dorsey-LSU

QB no earlier than the 4th.

Well...
There certainly is talk and rumor of the dolphins looking at QB.

I don't know what the dolphins will do and I doubt any of us do. Nor am I leading the call for us to draft another QB.

What I do know is this....

If they were, the key word here is IF, going to take a top QB prospect then 32 or 57 is probably where they would do it. That would definitely change the dynamic of the draft not just because of the selection itself, but it would also cast doubt on their faith in Beck and mean we'd not fill a need at another position.

Personally, I tend to think and it is just a hunch, that the fins will not take a QB before the 4th round...

QB
Feeling like they feel pretty good about our QB situation...if Mr.Oregon is there in say 7th round maybe take him...Who knows Woodson might even be there...He has great size.

Really though....
I think that this draft will be more about solidifying the O line and D line.  But if there if Brohm or Henne is there at 32, I think you take him.

Next years draft may be more about other position players linebacker, corner, safety, reciever, et cetera.

qb...
i def dont take a qb before the 4th. i agree with you nat that if we are going to take one we most likely have to use the 32nd. i dont think at 57 that any one the top qbs will be left! i just think if beck is gonna be the man then we gotta give him time, btw i am a beck guy so this is great for me. but if you look at next years qb class there isnt alot to pick from.
There will be changes here, there's no doubt about that ~BP~

FILE - In this Sept. 4, 2009 file photo, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Shaun Hill aims a pass downfield against the San Diego Chargers during the first quarter of an NFL preseason football game in San Diego. Hill earned the starting job for the 2009 season by beating out Alex Smith, who missed last season after re-injuring his surgically repaired throwing shoulder. Head coach Mike Singletary largely chose Hill based on his play down the stretch last year: he went 5-3 over the final eight games and he also owns a 5-0 record at home in Candlestick Park.
