Shockey

OK OK OK.... I know it's not exactly logical to talk about trading preciously high draft picks for a non-rookie, but I know there are some Caniacs out there who still think Jeremy Shockey has not reached his potential. I don't even know if I would be pissed off or not if the Dolphins TE is a big need for the Fins, and Jeremy Shockey is arguably (K2 was pretty good too) the best tight end to play in the city of Miami. Just thoughts really. Shockey as a Dolphin could be something to behold.

Shockey hasn't reached his full potential yet because he hasn't played a full season. I hope the Dolphins don't trade for him. It would be a mistake. He is a cancer to young QB's and has a case of the droppies...

it would be a mistake. the good thing is that he said he would accept a trade to the saints so dont think we'll be seeing him here. i'll throw in the old addiage that we arent one player away we are many players away. getting shockey wont make this team 10 games better, but getting 8-9 good draft picks could. also considering that im sure they are asking for a second round pick which if we were interested the 57th wouldnt be enough for him

attitude

one benefit i see of getting shocky is his tough guy attitude. i dont think we have enough of those on the dolphins. we need someone to bulldoze over rodney harrison.

he bulldonzez harrison, and limps off the field... he's a talented guy, but too injury prone and not worth giving up precious picks for.

shockey for picks

I agree picks should be guarded tightly and not traded just for anyone. but shockey is pretty much a proven commodity. he's only 27 and he has been to the pro bowl 4 times. its not the same as trading for some guy we hope will bust out. he has 4-6 good years left in him, just enough to get us a couple of super bowls. i guess it all depends on who you think you can draft with those picks you would have to give up for shockey.

Quite frankly.

I don't care if the guy is a future Hall of Famer TE. If he has the kind of attitude that causes problems in the locker room, like Shockey does, I don't want him. Period.
