The Phinsider Community Mock Draft: Pick #14 - Chicago Bears

With the 13th pick in The Phinsider Community Mock Draft, the Carolina Panthers select Rashard Mendenhall, RB, Illinois.

This was the closest vote yet, with Mendenhall getting 32% and Chris Williams getting 31%.

So here's how the last 5 picks look:

  1. Cincinnati Bengals - Sedrick Ellis, DT, LSU (80%)
  2. New Orleans Saints - Keith Rivers, LB, USC (41%)
  3. Buffalo Bills - Malcolm Kelly, WR, Oklahoma (25%)
  4. Denver Broncos - Jeff Otah, OT, Pitt (30%)
  5. Carolina Panthers - Rashard Mendenhall, RB, Illinois (32%)

Up next, with pick #14, are the Chicago Bears.  Below are the Bears' draft needs, courtesy of NFL Draft Countdown:

1. Quarterback: Is there any doubt that this is #1? For years now the Bears have had issues under center and it may have cost them a Super Bowl. It's time to find a long-term solution once and for all.
2. Offensive Tackle: Fred Miller has played his last down in a Bears uniform so a starter is needed at right tackle and with John Tait also getting up there in years depth is going to become an issue as well.
3. Offensive Guard: Reuben Brown's seen better days and is a free agent so unless they are real confident that either Terrence Metcalf or Josh Beekman can start at left guard they have a major problem.

Bears
All of a sudden a year removed from the Super Bowl and this team has major needs on offense. I went with Chris Williams.

4 OTs in the first 14 picks
And that's the last good one. Looks like we'll have to start taking skill players now.
