Good Draft Strategy Idea?

I had never even thought of this until i heard Harvey Fialkov discuss this potential draft strategy:

Signing the number 1 pick is costly and perhaps nobody is worth that much money this year. The Dolphins could simply let the time expire on the clock and then jump in at anytime they want with their pick potentially saving a lot of money.

What do you guys think of this as a potential strategy?

been discussed at length :)
everyone pretty much concurs that whoever they pick will still claim to be the #1 pick and hold out trying to negotiate a contract better than the actual slot.

Yeap
that's it exactly.

The rookie salary situation is going to be a hot topic in the coming labor-owners talks. The dolphins first pick is not the time to try and resolve that.

If the fins don't want to spend the money then they always have the option of trading down. Sure they may get less value but that's up to them...

I got an even better idea...
...if the Dolphins don't want to pay $30mil for a draft:

HOW ABOUT WINNING SOME DAMN FOOTBALL GAMES!

That is all. :)

Depressed Dolfan
If they dont want to pay that money then draft McFadden and trade him.

Q's
where would you trade mcfadden hes not a 1st round guy in my books and we wont get more than a 1st round for him so its like down grading for nothing, now matt ryan is a want because every one needs a QB well not every one but the games nothing without a QB. so find who wants ryan and nagotiate a trade.

easy
