The Phinsider Community Mock Draft: Pick #12 - Denver Broncos
With the 11th pick in The Phinsider Community Mock Draft, the Buffalo Bills select Malcolm Kelly, WR, Oklahoma.
This was the closest vote yet, with Kelly picking up 25% of the vote. Devin Thomas and Leodis McKelvin each picked up 22% of the vote.
So here is how the last 5 picks have gone:
- New England Patriots - Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, CB, Tenn St. (32%)
- Baltimore Ravens - Glenn Dorsey, DT, LSU (41%)
- Cincinnati Bengals - Sedrick Ellis, DT, LSU (80%)
- New Orleans Saints - Keith Rivers, LB, USC (41%)
- Buffalo Bills - Malcolm Kelly, WR, Oklahoma (25%)
Up next, with the 12th pick, are the Denver Broncos. For Broncos news and insight, head over to the Mile High Report. Below are Denver's draft needs, courtesy of NFL Draft Countdown:
2. Safety: John Lynch is nearing the end of his great career and he will have to be replaced soon. Meanwhile neither Hamza Abdullah or Nick Ferguson have proved that they are the answer alongside him.
3. Offensive Tackle: With the somewhat unexpected retirement of Matt Lepsis left tackle could be a concern if Ryan Harris is not up to the job. Even if he is though depth now becomes a problem as well.

While DT is nominally
Then you have safety where, as with DT, the best remaining prospects (probably Phillips) are not rated this high.
That leaves us with the OT position or perhaps some other spot Shanny wants to fill. And I say Shanny as he's now playing GM too.
You have Desean Jackson as a WR who is not unlike Ted Ginn, although smaller.
For me though, I think they take Chris Williams. You have the obvious Vandy connection with Culter. Plus they (denver) had a notable presence at William's pro day as I recall.

While...
In that case, Devin Thomas would be a solid selection here. He is rated by several draft resources as the top WR in the draft and should fit a WC system perfectly.
That said, the "safe" pick might be Williams. While it always makes me nervous when lineman have "motor" questions, Williams was entrusted with protecting Jay Cutler once, so maybe the Broncos entrust him to do it again.
