Chad Henne
Henne moving up on Dolphins' wish list?
> Posted by hfialkov at 11:58:41 AM
Although my partner and seemingly every NFL exec at the Combine has grown in love with Delaware quaterback Joe Flacco, it seems that the Dolphins are focusing their ardor on Michigan quarterback Chad Henne as their potential second-round pick.
My sources say that the Dolphins haven't made any contact with Flacco since checking him out at the Senior Bowl and Combine, while a radio interview by Henne with ESPN-760 host Evan Cohen indicates he could be the pick at No. 32 - if he's still there.
"They wanted to know my character, what I am as a person, as a player,'' Henne told Cohen. "[We went] through what I know, how I go about myself during the game and off the field. So, I've had good contact with them.''
Last week Dolphins quarterbacks coach David Lee and national scout Ron Labadie dined with Henne before attending his Pro Day the next day. Henne said they have another scheduled dinner with him next Tuesday in Ann Arbor, and possible a private workout on Wednesday.
The 6-1, 226-pound Henne is not as mobile or as large as the 6-6 Flacco and is more of a pocket passer, so he will need more developing. Because the Dolphins offensive line is a work in progess, expect John Beck and Josh McCown to battle it out this year while developing a young quarterback such as Henne.
Stay tuned.

Henne is a
The book on Henne is he's got a good arm, decent (not great) size, and played in a good (non-gimmicky, non spread-style offense) system.
The catch with him is he's not very mobile and he has some problems with accuracy. If you remember Marino being great at improvising in the pocket, Henne is kind of the opposite - he really struggles with that. His career completion % at Michigan was under 60%.
I like Brohm or Flacco more than Henne.

Part of it is due to...
Mike Lombardie on NFL network the other night was asked a similar question about Brohm. He went on to say that Brohm was a good QB, but benefited greatly from the system that Bobby Petrino put in place at Louisville.
He looks like a pretty good QB to me, I just like Ryan a lot more.

Midgets
He can't even see over the center.
He was SO HAPPY when stadium seating came to the theatres....get real. I can think of 5 QB's better than him.

I was reading
Last week, Dolphins quarterbacks coach David Lee and national scout Ron Labadie dined with Henne the night before the Wolverines' Pro Day.
Henne said he was mostly questioned about his leadership tactics.
Really, his leadership tactics huh?

For what it is worth Neo...
It is a bit odd for your senior QB to not be a team captain. Can you imagine someone like Peyton Manning not being a team captain in college?
Maybe it has to do with the fact that Henne hasn't exactly shined in big games. As I recall, he is part of a graduating class that's 0-4 against ohio state. Not a trivial detail in Ann Arbor.

ummmm...
comparing beck to leaf/couch is just ignorant. first off beck is a 2nd round pick!! he is not a top 5 pick like the others.
if you dont like what matty post and cant contribute to the fact in a way that is for the lack of a better word "respectable" then get your ass to another site and dont post here. i have no problem with say "matty ice is the next marino and will win 17 superbowls" or whatever you think the kid is gonna do. just dont come out like a damn jackass cause really no one wants to read that shit and im pretty sure im not alone.

seriously....
Hmmmm....
Oh, and for the record, no I'm not Mormon, so lets not make this a religious thing. I already had to ban somebody for making it a race issue as to why I dislike Cleo Lemon. And I still get e-mails from that reader calling me a racist (and other things that aren't suited for this site).
