Turner to Falcons official
What does it mean?
So now they really don't need McFadden. So here is an interesting thought: At one point Atlanta had options: McFadden or Matt Ryan. Now, they truly need a QB. Based on FA moves, Miami has made it at least appear that Ryan or Jake will be the pick. Maybe we can play this into a trade with Atlanta? It could be one of those trades where Miami takes Ryan #1, trades to Atlanta at #3, then we pick one of the Long boys? I think St Louis takes Jake, but you never know. Thoughts?

St. Louis likes Jake...
In a perfect world, we can make that trade with the ATL, and still not have to worry about the STL, get Jake or Chris with #3 and continue to add depth with the extra picks...all while keeping JT.
See what I did there? I used ATL, STL, and JT in one long-ass run-on sentence.
Go Dolphins.
Atlanta
As I see it, ATL is looking at Jake Long or Matt Ryan.
And, with the signing of McCown, the money already committed to Beck - I can't see us dropping another bundle of money on a #1 overall pick for a QB, meaning no Matt Ryan.
Think about it, no team would have so much money committed to the QB spot if we paid McCown $3M/year, Beck his deal, and Ryan probably $5M/year.
So IMO, I see us taking a QB in the 2nd or 3rd round for a much more reasonable amount of money.
And if that's the case, then there's no deal with ATL.
All a bunch of what-if's of course, but that's what I forsee....
You misread
I didn't misread or misunderstand
I simply don't think what you are suggesting or at least hoping for, a trade-down scenario with Ryan, is likely to happen.
You certainly can disagree and if anything, it would be great if your trade-down scenario with atl/whomever, did play out.
But if you look at the history of trades in the top 5, it has been a long time since such a thing has happened. So I think it is unlikely to happen again.
eh
While a trade down is unlikely, nothing is out of the realm of possibility. Everything is speculation at this point, the past doesn't always predict the future.
