The Atlanta Falcons have reached an agreement in principle with the Oakland Raiders to trade cornerback DeAngelo Hall for the Raiders' second-round pick in the 2008 draft, pending the Raiders finalizing a contract with Hall, according to a source close to the Falcons.
Hall is close to agreeing to a contract with the Raiders that will pay him just below what Asante Samuel signed with the Eagles, according to the source. Samuel signed a six-year deal worth a reported $57 million, with $20 million guaranteed.
Hall is a former first-rounder taken with the eighth pick in the 2004 draft.

not getting hall
if jimmy and wanny would of used the draft to build a team then maybe we would be in a position to take a big name, but of course we are coming of "the season" and cant afford to do that. even if atlanta wanted to swap our pick for theirs+hall it, hes going to want samuel money and i dont know if we need that right now.
i love the current moves building up the special teams (i posted and article "foundation")that points out where we are going right now. and thats how this team "HAS" to be done. we really arent re-building we are BUILDING. we are pretty much an expansion team right now and have to start small.

I knew that
Do you give a player like that $55M and put a big dent in your salary cap? Personally, I don't think it is worth it.
The giants beat the leagues best pass offense ever (that would be NE last year) with McQuarters & Madison at corner - two guys who are not considered top 10 corners by anybody. Which shows again, that the best pass defense is a great pass rush...
